Hi everyone

As you know we introduced the PDF (aka digital) version of Impressions magazine earlier in the year.

At the time it was deployed via the forum only and initially downloads were fantastic, but they have tapered off a bit. Many said they had lost their passwords, dont use forums anymore and asked if they would prefer a link in social media a popular reply was they do not do that either.

With our backs a little to the wall on how to deploy this new and additional member benefit we followed on from the success of Impromptu in September and have used Email as the delivery method.

We hope you all enjoy having the option to read on your mobile device or start your collection again as digital copies.

This is NOT a replacement for the paper copies 8) before folks get the pitch forks out :lol: :lol:

Saying that we intend shortly to introduce online based membership management and email will be an essential part of that.

So please make sure you mark messages from the imp club as safe and trusted, just to make sure we do not end up in your spam folder.

Graham T has a short piece on this for the next Impressions magazine which will explain it a bit more.

It was not a hard job, just a hard decision and consensus to reach. Very strong feeling about not swamping members with emails and poisoning the well as any platform chosen for membership management will rely on email like everything else these days.

We still hit 99+% of email addresses we have on file which is roughly 85% of the membership. The reason for the difference is that the 15% have either opted for "no cummunication" or actually have no emai or never provided one. We need to respect those members wishes.

We can only tell how many times the links were clicked as every email is unique to the member which was about 850 times, over 400 unique so better take up than on the forum link wise. We only know how many times it was clicked, I suspect its either multiple times on a mobile device to read or a combination of desktop and mobile.

The key use of email will be for membership services though, using the email channel for anything else may risk folks blocking or unsubscribing which would include member only offers, news, magazine and membership renewals.

We will see how the next one goes.
