DVLA section is interesting, especially considering the recent debacle about (I think) a mini that was refused "proper" status because it had a hole drilled in it, so not the same as an original monocoque, but refused to accept its legality if the offending hole was welded up ! Obviously a single emotive tale, but possibly repeated time and again. The DVLAs rules are, despite the good intention (sic), ludicrous by any sensible measure. And certainly need looking at with a sensible head.
