Well done Geoff and Steve.
This was the first time out since the Manx last September, when the gearbox lost some teeth from the crown wheel, the box having been rebuilt by Dave Weedon, and the engine and car undergone a winter rebuild. The pair were keen to get a result and have a clean run, this they did with Geoff admitting to feeling very rusty, resulting in a couple of half spins and a couple of excursion's but nothing serious, he also had a two wheel moment, he's looking for photo's of this??? His times improved as the day went on and Geoff clearly enjoying himself towards the end when he was getting up to pace he knows he can do.
Setting the joint fastest time in the under 1300 class on the last stage.
From our side of the rally that being Mike Dent (Moose) and myself we didn't have do a thing to the car other than routine spanner checks, Mike spent more time sorting out ignition problems on a host of Minis, with the result he got orders for three full ignition systems he has developed. talk about networking.
At the end of the day Geoff and Steve finished 35 overall and 10 in the under 1400 class, But they finished 2 in the HRCR class. So a good result with a lot more to come, and a great day had by all.
Well done guys.
Keith.
