Next Committee Meeting

The clubs next Committee meeting is Sunday 21 January 2024 starting at 10.30

This is just a reminder that these are open for any members to attend via Microsoft teams. If you would like to join please email Karen secretary@theimpclub.co.uk . The invite will be emailed out when it is ready. Please provide your email and membership number

We are also about to trial a new meeting schedule of once per month, 11 times per year to see if we can pick up the pace as regards any ideas or decision making.

There is a lot of good old boring back office and company stuff mixed in but it is your club. Want to add anything to the agenda just let us know. We do really value your engagement.

It wont happen this month, but I would like to see how the new format fairs as regards progress before doing more, however next month if all goes well, I may consider opening up the agenda in between so that members can add items if they wish it discussed.

Members would also be able to vote on any ideas or motions online with advance notice and indeed if any members see a skill set or other way to contribute to any of the ideas, please let us know. This would be closed circulation only. Details in the members section of the forum.

You do not have to be on the committee to contribute.

With the increased meeting schedule we will be looking to limit time with the actual online meetings, any items not handled within the time will need to roll to the next meeting. Any new items submitted will be answered asap or added to the list and addressed in the order they are received.

Could the Agenda be published to help decide if one wishes to "attend"?

Indeed.

The plan is to close/finalise the agenda the weeek before the meeting, the list will keep going, but any new items will need to wait until the next months meeting. Ditto for any items not attended to in the allocated time.

It also allows for comments to be on the agenda in advance, so far I have already received comments and added them in.

Updates are exactly that. Updates, not really a lot to discuss, usually items that have been attended to and complete between meetings or actions taken after comments. Comments are of course welcome

Various posts will add reports to the Agenda. These will be retained with the minutes.

Minutes wise, they are almost done as filling in each section with final notes on any proposals or record any votes, done.

Through the year each update will have its own number, so next agenda may seem odd with number missed but these are simply updates or proposals that have not been closed.

Every thrid meeting the performance of the new format I will summarise as X issues closed, X issues open just to keep track.

The format may fail, but as everyone is very limited time wise this hybrid approach allowing for people to attend to things when they have the time, rather than grudge turning up for a meeeting, might ease the pressure a bit and encoiurage more engagement in things.

Hi Everyone

As well as a new schedule for committee meetings and updates and if I can find the time, I have an idea pending to have a VERY condensed version of the minutes from each meeting available as a link at the bottom of the same email as you receive with your PDF copy of impressions.

Deadline permitting this same version will be provided in Impressions also so we can cover as many members as possible regardless of preferred media format.

There has been a lot of comment on lack of engagement from the membership so we would like to see if this encourages more members to participate in club direction and perhaps even volunteer or offer much needed skill sets to any activities. No-one can offer if they are not aware

It is a trial format and although full minutes will be available in short order after the meetings, the bite sized updates will be as/when the schedule for PDF distribution of the magazine dictates as we would also like to limit our email activities to sending you only 1 email per month and keep it short, to the point.

Remember if you would like to participate in any of the meetings all members are welcome to do so but must request an invite from Kareen via email secretary@theimpclub.co.uk
