I'm posting this as a placeholder and to generate awareness/interest among any Australian Impers who may see it, as we have not yet established the finer details of the event such as the final date...
Date - October
Place - Yarra Valley. Key thing will be a visit to Linwood Road, Seville (on the road to Wandin East), plus some other local attractions.
Please get in touch if you would like to come along, with or without an Imp!

Re: Australian 60th Anniversary Weekend
Obviously, residing in England, this might be a difficult meeting to attend, but its great that you are also going to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the launch in Oz. I hope it will be well attended, and look forward to seeing some images posted on here as it happens. Good Luck !

Re: Australian 60th Anniversary Weekend
Thanks Uncle Henry! Definitely will.
For a taste, here is the post about the 50th Anniversary which we held at Hahndorf South Australia - with a visit to a tiny spot called Linwood!

Re: Australian 60th Anniversary Weekend
The event has now been officially launched, for October 21-22:
The RGCC plans to host an event open to all imp enthusiasts in the country.
Hotel rooms have already been reserved. Costs range from about $160 (double) to $230 (family) for rooms at the main hotel, with a second 'overflow' hotel also booked.
Our plan is to be based in Healesville.
If you wish to be kept informed, to reserve a place, or contribute to the event, please let us know.

Re: Australian 60th Anniversary Weekend
With no interstate visitors we ended up making this a one-day run instead, starting in Healesville. My car would not start on the day despite going for a good drive the day before, also Nick thought non-operational wipers were not compatible with the weather forecast (there may have been other last-minute withdrawals) and we ended up with 4 Imps plus 3 other owners and 2 Humber Super Snipes, a Mini Cooper S and a mid-90s HSV Clubsport.
We drove over to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie which was popular with the 6 children,
then back to Healesville Railway Station for a ride on the 1949 Walker railmotor. The conductor used to have a couple of Humbers, so came out to have a look at our cars.
We then headed down to Launching Place and the Home Hotel for lunch and an amazing birthday cake made by Ruth and Colin Warren.
After lunch we drove around to Seville for a photograph with the Linwood Road sign, unfortunately this coincided with a short burst of heavy rain. After taking some photos we went our separate ways. Thanks to the organisers and those who attended!
I also found my no-start wasn't just a slightly-flat battery, I've got some work to do...

Re: Australian 60th Anniversary Weekend
I always expect to see a passing Kangeroo in attendance but haven't as yet?
Why is it Hillman Hunters require roo bars but Imps don't?

Re: Australian 60th Anniversary Weekend
Since you mentioned it, there was a list of things to spot for the kids on the train ride which included a kangaroo - I wasn't expecting they would find one because they generally are more active at dawn and dusk, but apparently they did see one! (no photo sorry haha)
I've never seen an Imp with a roo bar, but I'm sure it has happened!
