Pushed LNK into the garden so I could hook up the Slagroom to Rej and test the electrics.
Now re-wiring the tow bar electrics on Rej!

Re: What did you do to your Imp today?
I've secured Stans oil filler cap using a short length of blue 17 amp cable looped through a small hole drilled in the left hand edge of the cap and crimped together. The other end has a crimped on ring which is secured to the bracket which supports my K and N and inlet tube. The reason ? I'm fed up with losing caps after I've topped up the oil !

Ive never had my cap blow off under any circumstances, but my hard hat did once.617sqn wrote:I've secured Stans oil filler cap using a short length of blue 17 amp cable looped through a small hole drilled in the left hand edge of the cap and crimped together. But just to be sure my cap never does mines held with a Sport throttle return spring, one end attached to the cap edge and the other secured by one of the filler neck retaining screws,. thats how Hartwell did it on their race engines.

We were reminiscing about that just the other day
your timing was spot on. We nearly got away with it. What about the award you received for being a sport and taking our wind ups in good humour ? We almost had you with the threat of fire

Re: What did you do to your Imp today?
Welded the collapsed outer steering column cage on the Clan (Vauxhall Viva I believe), broken after I'd hit it very hard with a rubber mallet in an attempt to marry-up the pinion spline on the rack -erroneously thinking the inner column would move/slide just like an Imp...I now know it's a different design completely..apparently the Viva column is more advanced/safer being collapsible!
Maybe it'll pass the MOT now the steering column isn't loose/ inner scraping on the outer!

Spent yesterday at a classic car meet at Worthing Rugby Club run by Sussex Car Club, very good show, mine was the only IMP among about 300 mixed classics from 20 s through to modern, spoke to another club member, didn`t recognise him immediately, apparently left his IMP at home.
