Hatton 1999 and digital photos ..

Post by Turboimp »

My Photographs from 1999 when The National Day was last at Hatton , The last year before i went digital ,
I ran out of film ..
So , you all take photos with phones now , but how do you organise your archive , or do you just leave them on the phone and not too bothered if they get corrupted ?? Who has back ups ? essential really , and two copies are not enough, you need three minimum to cover all eventualities of loss . You do not realise how important photos are until you look back at your 10 , 20 30 year old ones ... Your digital ones could all be gone by then unless you take action now to preserve them ..See if you can spot yourself , or spot any cars you know ,remember you will be 17 years older now !

Fairly sure that's me in the background behind the Nymph - I'm the one with the blue T shirt. I've got another shot taken at this event of me wearing that T shirt and I was camped with the Somerset/Dorset/Devon group (the dark Green Chamois was Martin Bristow's dad's, the dark green Super was Cath's etc etc).

I have a CD at home of photos taken by a chap from the North East (I think) - I think he was one of Dave Lonsdale's mates... had a yellow Stiletto - that he mailed to me afterwards when I realised that I hadn't taken a single shot that weekend. I'd gladly put those up if I have permission from the original photographer to do so...

Great photos! 8) You can see how the event was laid out differently in 1999, compared with this year's. Now, where's my anaorak...? :?

I think I recognise some of the cars too.

Sadly I missed this year at Hatton due to pre-arranged holiday dates but I remember 1999 very well in that Fran and I returned from a holiday in Malta on the Tuesday. The following two days I did the end of the month interim valuations for my clients in a 48 hour cram in order that we could head South with Perky on the trailer to arrive late on Friday evening. I remember it being very hot and cooled off walking the adjoining canal pathways. We both had a great weekend taking home a First for the Best Modified Imp sadly but because of a numerical error made by the judges my car was not able to be presented for the overall judging which was not discovered until an hour later which was too late!!
Nice to see the photograph of Perky with my old Audi alongside complete with Pinky and Perky cut outs in the window.......... thanks for the memory. Mike and Fran Scott

This engine cut away would be transformed if it has a small quiet electric motor to turn it around very slowly say 2 rpm :-)

I've uploaded all 95 pics from Hatton 99 to here:

http://s17.photobucket.com/user/impmann ... y/Imp%2099

They aren't my pics... I didn't take them but I have a CD that someone kindly supplied me around that time of their pics of that National.

Here are some random ones...

One observation... men's shorts were *significantly* shorter back then!!!!

Enjoy!

It could be.
I am struggling to remember Hatton 1999. I do recall driving my Imp around Warwick before this year, but what it was in association with I cannot remember :? .
