Hi Adrian,

This is my old car, when I sold it though it was full with all the trim dash etc.

It was a very good shell and I probably should have just kept it locked away for a rainy day.

Love a good Mk 1.

Have fun with it

Hi,

Thanks Colin Dash trim would be handy!
I have welded the trim holes up, for now and if I can get all the trim at a later date it will be easy enough to drill and refit just did not fancy driving it all half trimmed for years waiting for some to turn up.

The rusty Stilletto has inner and outer sills sorted but now needs inner and outer arches, when I get time! As Kermit is priority to use for work.

Tim Shh! Do not tell Dax about his belt sander for Xmas!

Found more pictures of bare metal and etch priming.

I bought this car a few years back off its original
Owner who had kept it in a heated garage all it's life , which is probably why the shell is good,
It had a sandwich type accident many years ago he said at very low speed
In the snow one year which explains why Darren ( Capriman) fitted / started fixing the
front end,
Something about a taxi stopping in the snow - the imp stopped but
The car behind didn't stop in time and sandwiched the imp in between the taxi and the car,
There was evidence of the rear crossmember not fitting perfect,

Great to see it is getting fixed and will be on the road again,
As of many of the imps I have sold I wish I'd kept this one to fix myself one day ,
Anyway good luck with the project

No wonder it is so sound and that explains the damage it has a new leg in the front which was well done and a rear wing, in the engine bay the leg is a bit sad and i have a new leg to fit at a later date just need to get it sorted and on the road I now have the front panel painted and all the floor pan up to where the drivers feet go.

Had to step things up to get it on the road for now as the MOT on the super runs out soon.
The floor was only piffling minor surface rust.

sanded off rust killer coated and washed off then zinc primed.

Hurrah sailed through the MOT no problems and now in use everyday for work, just welded up the hole from the radio aerial and painted the front with a brand new fiberglass bonnet as the steel one was a pile of work to sort later on.

Still have the back end to do and fit a fresh powder coated grill as I am fed up with them always rusting so quick with everyday use.

Hi James,

unfortunately Kermit won't be at national as I am racing at Croft, but he is running well I still need to pull out the OSR wing to get it finished off.
Do you still have any bits as I am missing this part of the dash?

If you dont pick one up it might be a good excuse to go to the Beauleau Auto Jumble in September, they say if you cant find the part you need there its not available anywhere. I normally go on one of the days, really interesting even if you dont actually need anything.

Hi Adrian

I've just found this section of dash in my stock this afternoon.

I'll clean it up and bring it with me next week.

Cheers
