FIA appendix k regs for Imp

Does anyone have a copy or a rough idea of the regulations for an appendix k imp?
i have a basic idea,stombergs,steel doors,12''wheels any info gratefully received.

Something real quick where mr Jones can slot the new valver into. Should be a flying machine, just hope with all that power it doesn't blow the gearboxes :D

Think you two have the wrong end of the stick! it was only to see if i could bolt doors,wheels and carbs onto my imp so i could race with mike dowset at the spa weekend as the hscc dont have a race there this year.

In that case you need the Masters 'special K' rules which allow extra mods above strict K inc 40s - best to talk to Mike. I think they might even allow some plastic panels.

Found these regs for app K , looks like alot of work to convert BCC, it would be easier to start again with the other car.

I'm guessing some form of 16v imp head concoction. Would be suprised if there was one running yet though. Any news? 8)

mmm lovely rear radiator, standard gearbox, drum brakes best bet is speak to Mike Dowsett.
I will delve though my homolagation paperwork and see what there is.

I thought Viva discs were OK - and 13" minilights. Not sure about rads and boxes though. I thought the works rally cars had front rads.

I think you keep a vestigial rear rad (cut-down core) and "assist" with an auxiliary front matrix, which is allowed?

A 16 valve head on an Imp engine would not be allowed in K class as I understand it (original std valve numbers/cylinder required). The 16 valve (Kawasaki bike head conversion, I guess) Imp engine was recently (famously) promised for a reveal at the National...and we're all looking forward to seeing /hearing it running! :mrgreen:

I wonder if the Nathan 8V twink was ever homologated? That existed in 1966, not sure if it was ever used in anger, Roger's a bit vague at times in his autobiography.
Do me a deal? Employ me for 3 days and pay me for what I'm currently being paid for 5, then I'll have time to do everything!

AFAIK - not homologated for Imps of Rootes/Chrysler origin anyway.
The Nathan 8V twink (or even any 16V) may have been used in rally-cross cars. I think that sometimes it was almost like prototypes were allowed, as long as the bodywork covered all four wheels.
IIRC, someone rally-crossed an Imp with a mid-mounted Rover 3.5 L V8. 8)

Aw, so disappointed it won't be ready for the National ...Speeddemons' funds must be have taken a hit by the sounds. :?

got enough for 12 valves at the moment, , best get the footage out of the valver on the dyno, green with envy hahahahh :D

Andy - which period are you building for? I'd be happy to help - we have one car approved, one pending - both period G though (66-71).
if anyone ever finds a way to build something approved for period F (not a UK Special, but proper *nal HTP), please let me know :evil:
