Exeter Trial 2011

Post by StuartC » Sun Jan 09, 2011 12:51 pm

'Simms' is one of the most difficult sections on any classic trial and this year surface conditions were as tricky as ever with the majority of cars failing to reach the top. You can't see the hill from the start line which is about 30 yards back from the corner at the bottom and your first view of the hill is pretty daunting, and if you fail to reach the top retaining control as you reverse back down can be scary.
Bill Rosten did really well on this year's event and climbed all the sections. Here he is climbing Simms and its steeper than it looks on the video:

Well done Bill!!!
Looking at some of the videos and photos available on the net, it looks like Simms was a bit of a stopper this year.
Those that climbed it had to work hard to get to the top, especially the class 7 & 8cars who had to do a restart just
around the bend at the bottom of the hill.
Didnt get to do the trial this year but I hope to be back out driving next years trial in my Dellow!
