Hillman Sonic, does one still exist?

Post by African Imp » Wed Oct 22, 2014 2:56 pm

I have someone who was an Imper many years back, he kept a news item from Australian Motor Manual Melbourne, Australia, I have it as a PDF if anyone wants to see it?

The Sonic was a fast back Imp and as it was dated 1965 it will pre date the Hillman Californian Imp coupe by some years.

Are any left I wonder?? Imp027 This one is still with us, one of around 55 to 60 said to exist only :D

Looking at the Sonic hardtop you can see where JLR got their styling idea from for the Range Rover Evoque
Did the Sonic come with a screwdriver

It came with a hedgehog .
It looks as though the designer lost his way when sorting out the top. It would probably look the same if one just threw a sheet over it, which it looks like they might have. :?

There is an open topped one in Sydney. It may be the sole survivor.

I've never seen one of the hardtop versions other than in magazines.
