And the sills? But I would think its how it was on the real car they used as a photo model, and whoever did the paint scheme for the model thought thats how they all were??

When I saw the prototype at a trade/media open day a couple of months ago, I pointed out to Lyndon (who owns Oxford Diecast) that the colour wasn't "Willow Green" on Les Human's car - the reg number of this model - but Glenalmond Green. Looks like they chose to ignore me.

I've also seen a prototype of a Mk3 Imp Super in the same scale based on another car from the Sussex Area Centre...

I saw an EP of this model back in February and gave Oxford some feedback on the tooling. Chiefly, about the wheels.
Looks like they ignore me too.
Shame it's not flush glazed, as that really lets it down.
Still a far better effort than the Base Toys "blob" though IMHO.

I know but isn't that scale about the size of a postage stamp? I doubt its easy to do much that small??

'fraid not. Other manufacturers of models, even in 1:76 scale, do it all the time.
Slight inward taper on the window openings and injection moulded windows clipped in from the back. Hay presto! Perfect flush glazing.
Simples.

I had this from Les Human, the owner of the car in question.

Thanks for the email leading to the model of "Olive".

" NWR 677A "Olive" was Glenalmond Green when originally sold new but before Rob acquired her she was painted as part of an insurance claim as a load of wood fell on her. The repairer tried to paint only the panels that were paint damaged to match the faded colour but failed, and ended up painting all the car. The inside is still the original colour. I perpetuated the feeling with any outside painting that has been done since because I like it that colour. The grill and valances have never been black to my knowledge. Also her original registration was 3844 KM which was kept by the previous owner so NWR 677A is an age related number acquired after July 1999 . I have photos and an article featuring "Olive" called Impish Charm from Popular Classics of November 1990 from the previous owner in her original colours.

I have since had a thought why the grill is a dark colour. I fitted the grill off my Chamois which is Forest Green temporarily whilst Olive's was being painted and attended a couple of local shows just before the National. They might have been working to a Photo taken from this source."

Thinks they used just standard axles and parts bin wheels most of the time for their models, rather than do specials for each one, looks like it has 2" spacers all round bit Fandango ish, do spoil the effect a little I must admit.

The Tangerine one just doesnt look right, someones undersealed the sills, probably pattern cover sills used, and the wheels are wrong, other than that perfect.
Only another 164 colour variants to go.

The real one has neither black sills nor black wheels.
And does not have pattern cover sills.

Not that tiny - 1/76 is 4mm to the foot, same as 00 model railways.
They do smaller ones too that are more like N gauge scale.
Their 1/43rd ones are O gauge.
