PARTS FOR RECONDITIONING.

If anybody has any parts for reconditioning by Imp Club Spares, don't forget to bring them along to National Weekend.
Things like brake shoes, clutches, clutch covers, water pumps, radiators etc.
Cheers,
Bob.

is there some kind of incentive to give up parts for reconditioning that may have some residual value ?

There's the satisfaction element that you will be keeping the Imp alive for a few more years, perhaps ? I wouldn't go expecting receipt of a 50p voucher against future purchases, Mikey.

I think that is now a big issue - it is for me. I have waterpump casings and radiators in my stash that in previous years I would have donated to the club (and have done... many times) for such purposes. However, in view of the scarcity now I'm loathed to part with them in case I need them in the future - and I'd have to pay money to replace them, even if I was only using them as exchange items for reconditioning.

I think we all need to temper the satisfaction of "keeping the Imp alive" against the financial implications, sadly. Another example of how rising values isn't actually good for the cars survival, perhaps...?

Anyone who donates unwanted items for refurbishing could be given a free entry into an IMP Club lottery thats drawn at the end of the year where you can choose some spare parts that you need and/or a years free membership? What a great idea. :D

But thats right Ive given away many parts over the years, some brand new for free, I thought I no longer needed only to find Ive had to track them down again now and buy them back as I need them now, sods law, they are kicking around for years then once gone theres a need for them.

Great idea, Peter. It could start and finish at National. Then the winner could choose their prize and take it home with them. No postage involved either way. :D Who on the committee is bold enough to sanction this then ?

This is a great idea that needs formally putting to Bob Allan and the Committee. Whilst I return brake shoes and clutch covers like Tim, I am keeping old water pumps and radiators for refurb later for my own use and/or resale if necessary.
Over to you Peter as its your idea
