Front door pocket trims

Post by stainlessimp » Sat Jan 21, 2017 2:21 pm

Do any of our members know if front door pocket trims are still made, if not can anything be used as a replacement.

I have used that for the rear seat base flange, but I had in mind the same as the rear pockets.

The later cars just used this type of trim on the top flange of the rear pockets in black, bit cheap and nasty really, but there you go thats all they had.

Have a look through the Woolies site theres lots of different types and textures and finishes you can get.

The early cars had a proper injection mould plastic trim with arm rest on the rear pockets, that will fit the later cars too but you need the welded in armrest supports as well, if you can find all the parts that is.

My roots parts book for a 68 super shows mouldings of some kind. Can anyone shed any light on this?

That finisher for the front door pocket is the chrome U trim I show you from Woolies, its just to protect sharp pocket edge, its nothing substantial.

I do recall seeing a lid/panel that ran the full length of the door pocket, in effect making it like an arm rest, but there hasnt been front pocket versions of the one you saw on ebay, largely because the finished edge of the door pocket is rolled over unlike the back one which is not so.
