Hi Gary

When I have any firm information, I will publish it. Now Imp 2014 and holidays are over, I hope to make some progress.

Thanks - Simon

Obviously nothing firm yet, the company must have other pressing engagements?

It seems pointless getting tooling if we can't get them pressed what happens if the firm go out of business it must be nearly a year now ???

I believe its our tooling and nothing to do with the press company??, so if they do go bust one hopes our press tools are safe and would come back to us no problem?
Ive not seen the tooling but they are normally very hefty for such things as car panels, theres only so many presses that can produce the tonnage and size needed and those are usually in great demand, thats the problem I think?

It's also pointless asking again. I don't mean that to sound like it does, but believe me when I say that the people involved in this ARE very much on the case but we need to remember that our club is run by volunteers who have lives outside the club. If we ran Morris Minors or MGBs we could rely on a full-time spares network. But we don't, so we cannot. Producing panels is not an easy logistic operation – presses have to be booked a long time in advance, the necessary people have to be arranged for that day, materials bought, not to mention storage of the finished panels. Even that last point, which may seem trivial, is not to be under-estimated if rust is to be avoided. For that reason we cannot produce too large a batch.

I suggest, with the greatest respect, we simply wait in silence. To do anything else will not get the panels any faster.
