This happened to me one side when I took mine off, just use a hacksaw to cut through the bolt - down between the upright and shock, it does get stuck in the rubber a bit but doesn't take long to do, easier it you have the suspension arm off the car and hub carrier removed.

Imp spares sell new bushes which just push into the bottom of the shock and new nut /bolt to go with it. ( suspect Malcolm Anderson will also sell the same )

Had the same problem with the bottom bolt of one of my shocks but i had the wishbones and suspensión removed from the car. The bolt was stuck to the rubber bush and the bush was turning with the bolt.
I put a socket over the bolt head and rested it on an anvil. With the nut on the other end gave it a hard blow with a sledge hammer so that the bolt enters the socket. That shifted it !!! Just have to show it whos the boss :D :D

Shame my trick didnt work :( but good to see you have another alternative. If the bush moved with the bolt it could be that the socket was too big.
I replaced the shocks on my Chamois with originals purchased from the Club spares department, maybe they can help you ??
Good luck, Paul.

Thanks paul :) :)
had to cut the bolt out with a grinder both sides.
It was solid on the bush.
have now had the whole strut out and fitted new top plate and all rubbers and washers.
May have to take tank out to get the bolts back in the plate.
shock was still good mind.
will chase new bush and bolt next week.
oh the joy of keeping the imp alive .
still not bad for 43 years on the road... :) :) :)
