I saw an article a few months ago in Impressions that gaskets were to be produced for the front side / indicator lights.
Is there any news on this item please?
Thanks :)

Tom - I suggest an email to spares at theimpclub dot co dot uk to check on progress - they were definitely in progress a couple of months ago.

I was in Hobbycraft the other day and they do A4 sheets of dense foam about 1.5 mm thick called Fab Foam. It comes in a variety of colours. It's easily cut with scissors and I've made a couple of gaskets with it, like the one at the bottom of the steering column outer in black. Wouldn't be too difficult to cut out a lamp gasket in grey.

The building site I'm working at in Basingstoke has a Hobbycraft just down the road. Doesn't sound like I'll be getting much work done tomorrow

Nice tip, cheers.

Must say, I did see a foam gasket for the side lights at Malc's a few months ago and did mean to ask if it was a sample of the new ones.

Email from Bob at Imp Spares ;

Hi Brian,

I'm afraid they're still on order. I've chased the firm as there are
several people wanting them now.

The firm is very near to me. Will call in when the snow has disappeared a bit and see what is what.

Hello. I know it is April 1st but misinformation about the snow level is not needed. :o :o :o

Did try to telephone them but got no joy at all.

Can now report a visit has been made to "Gaskets For Classics" enquiring about the gaskets.
Bob had sent an e-mail today about the same subject.
They have relocated along the same road. :?
Guy there said work would be in hand soon.
We wait.

There are new sets on ebay I believe produced by the Escort suppliers. Not inexpensive. I find they hold water so I use Ethafoam which is nowhere near as absorbent.

I don't think so.

Bob has had the Imp ones done with tooling belonging to the Imp Club.

You can get Ethafoam easily online. You need stuff about 3mm thick. Comes in 2 or 3 shades. It is non-absorbent closed cell foam. I've used it as underlay and as sound deadening inside doors and wings etc. Handy for roll cabinet drawer liners also.
