Dip stick felt washer - can you buy?

Postby Gilesimp » Mon Sep 22, 2008 8:06 am

Hi Folks,
Can you buy the washer that slides up the dipstick to stop oil coming out in use?

Cheers, Giles

probably,

but if you go to a hardware store, diy or hobby store the little felt dremmel polishing bobs can be used..

or the little fuzzy discs you can get to stop objects marking tables work

I know its been a while, but I've made some of these now when I was bored. Not felt, but a more modern material which hopefully will do the job and keep your engine bay free from oil spray. 50p ea, see Club Spares list.

they sell stuff in diy shops for putting on furniture legs to stop them damaging solid floors that would do the job , and its sticky backed so it should stay in place if you clean the dipstick well first . it can be cut or punched out to the desired size .
