Gave LNK a fluid checkover this afternoon and LNK had no fluid in the Clutch reservoir The clutch is still working OK so i'm hoping it's just bled a load of air out as I've been driving to and from Glen's and the MOT garage. It's got a new Master fitted so if there's a problem it's probably the Slave. Anyway, I've topped it up and I'll see if its moved overnight.

Well, LNK continues to surprise me. On Saturday evening, in pouring rain, we took just 90 minutes to do the 100 miles from Finchley to my parent's place in Fareham.
No heater though so bl***y cold toes! It did work, I think the HG is causing it to lose water creating an air lock in the heater - will be sorted eventually.
Last night watched Top Gear at my brother's place in Fareham, left for Finchley avoiding motorways and filling up in Fareham. Got to my digs at 10.35pm - 95 mins including the petrol stop.
And this is with a standard engine with a dying HG on a slowlex and standard (blowing) exhaust! Should be a bit better with a sorted 930 running a sport man and system and 1.5" SU!

LYH was relocated to his new home today. Rich (Actuarius Impetus) provided and drove the tow car and we got soaked to the skin and frozen messing about with trailers. Anyway, he's in his new garage now drying off a bit, LYH that is, Rich dried off at his place!. The mice were in evidence in the old garage so I'll probably put some 'food' down in the new garage to 'discourage' them from eating the car etc. No photos 'cos I forgot to take my camera.
Just need to hire a van next week to clear a mountain of spares/tools/other belongings etc out of the garage.

Drove LNK down to Fareham yesterday and the clutch has started to slip quite badly. Just hope it lasts through the trip to Dorset tomorrow and back to London Sunday evening.
Then LNK will be off the road until I've got a new clutch kit and some Comp doughnuts, then it will all get done at the same time as the 930.
Found the boss for my early 60's Motolita steering wheel when I cleared out my garage on Thursday, my Dad has just turned it on his lathe removing the stove enamelled black paint and polishing it up nice
Fingers crossed that LNK lasts.............................

See now, you keep coming up with all this info now, but you never mentioned it before when I asked you for any info etc a few months back!
Now think Steve, very carefully, is there anything else you want to tell me about LNK?

Here's a picture of the Baz fleet (minus LYH) as of today.
from the left: LNK (awaiting 930 Sport and new clutch), Madge (running on 3 has spark - compression???), The Previa (awaiting new disc and pads for MOT then eBay), The Passat (replacement for Previa) and the company car (for now). As you can see I have plenty of space for more!

Finally got round to dropping off the Alley Cat style alloys for refurb and satin black powder coat. Price has gone up recently by £5/wheel so instead of £160 the bill will be £180. But that's 4 wheels chemically cleaned, refurbed/repaired where required, powder-coated satin black, my tyres fitted with a new valve and balanced. Still pretty good value IMHO. Same company fsmlittler used for his Clan wheels.

Here's one of the wheels as collected, the other three are just the same
Once my nice new shiney (one 'n' Chris!) stainless steel wheelnuts arrive I'll put them on LNK and take some pics.

Cheers guys, there's a rather nice white Porsche 911 near my digs with satin black wheels - looks good, should look good on LNK. Especially when it eventually gets a body resto and is painted orange!

Some time later this year (probably) I'm going to lose all this lovely parking as my digs are being sold to a property developer, so I should really get on with sorting the Previa and selling it whilst saving as hard as poss with a view to buying my own place. Unfortunately I'll be lucky to find somewhere with enough garage/parking space for my needs so will have to invest in some decent outdoor covers for Madge and LNK.

Actually....
Its not a photo at all. The 'photo' is a minds-eye freezeframe from the SPR Vid of the 2002 season (called Imp02 - not available in any good video stores), when I took dear old Spot to Powderham and blew not just one but two engines in one weekend...
I've just got the video out of the loft, shoved some coal in the Video Recorder and once the steam pressure came up, it proved it to me. God I sound a tw@t on that vid...
Anyway - upshot is, I can't help with a piccie. But if you can get a copy of the vid, you can see fleeting glimpses of your car (complete with Compomotive rims)

No idea Steve, you sent an old MOT, no V5s.sunstrip_steve wrote:Baz, when did i buy it - i sent you the old V5s?
MOTs I have:
94-95 issued in High Wycombe, Bucks
98-99 issued in Shefford, Beds
99-00 issued in Shefford, Beds
01-02 issued in Bovingdon, Herts
02-03 issued in Mold. Flintshire (Vince Frost @ Merlin Motors)
03-04 issued in Mold, Flintshire (Vince Frost @ Merlin Motors)
And there is one bill for SPR dated Sep 03 and another dated Aug 05.
SPR sold it to Rich on 05.03.06 and it passed from Rich to me in July 07.
I'm assuming you were in Wales during the 02-05 period? Funnily enough it's come back home as there are bills from 94-95 from a garage in Croxley Green when the car lived in nearby Rickmansworth.

Ha ha you win the prize Tim ....... but for a bonus point can you guess who's well known car the top half comes from The competition is not open to the instigator of the work or his family... yep that means you Bazimpmann wrote:Tis very good, Dave. You'd never twig it was Dean Coles' Stiletto with some very clever work...

Baz asked me to remove the air dam and give the new LNK satin black light surrounds and match the colour more to his other image. I have to say that I really like it like this:
As for the bumpers thing i'm not really sure. However if you insist, but i'm really not sure it works with the orange and black

Baz,
Might just be a trick of the light but i'm not into the black wheels, looks a bit hover-car to me, i know it's concept, but how about anthracite or gun-metal?
It's a good colour for a stiletto, probably because it's very similar to firecracker orange.
Bit of sacrilege to do such a thing to a photo of Dean's car , he has always built nice motors and I saw his previous stiletto (which was very similar) at a show and it was the car that made me look for an imp.
Cheers
Brian

Baz I have to say that I MUCH prefer LNK in her current guise Think the white and the twin lamps and the sportspack wheels are sh*t hawt tbh! Not so much a fan of the potato chop!
But hey, at least she'll stay like that for a little while at least Nowt wrong with mixing it up after that 'ey?

A self-adhesive black coach stripe would work really well on there, in my opinion, Baz. A really thin one following just under the line of the top of the swage in the body.
