This car has been owned by a club member some fifty one (51) years.
It is a very standard Hillman Imp Mk1, I rebuilt the engine for the owner some years back.
It was purchased new from Stanley Motors In Cape Town, the car has recently seen some restoration and is now in Pretoria, South Africa.

Yes and I suspect this is a rust free car, Dave lives by the coast but stores the car far inland to ensure it stays rust freejohnh875 wrote:Fantastic stuff Roy, there can't be too many to compare to that length of ownership!

Dave Alderson-Smith is standing second from the left, back row and with the beard
The picture was supplied to me by a chap who has a Reliant Scimitar Saber and in the Durban, South Africa, he told me that he had met with a man who says he owned an Imp but also that he played the Bag Pipes, I knew then that he had met with Dave Alderson- Smith.
A short while later the local newspaper came out and there was Dave!
