Singer Chamois CNA 476C
Hi
I am very new to this forum, this is the very first posting of my attempt of restoring an old 1965 Singer Chamois.
My original intentions were to clean the underneath and paint it, but over the several months of undertaking this project, it has led to a little more than this.
hopefully i may get some expert advice from your good selves to point me in the right direction.

!st job for me was to see how clean it was underneath,
having it on a 4 post lift we notice a lot of surface rust,
Engine out because it was blowing blue smoke, always wanted a 998 anyway so took it to Maynards.. hopefully back in January
Front and rear suspension off

Re: Singer Chamois CNA 476C
They are original MinIlites wheels, they look like 5 1/2" ones?
I have a set but mine are 13"dia x 6" so have a wider outer flange and even then could go to 6 1/2" at the rear with the same offset and clear the body, but they dont do them so you would need to go to 7" which would probably mean some arch flange dressing would be needed and its not a thing you want to be doing once it all painted.
I will have the 6" front and rear but the rears having a 1/2" solid spacer with extended solid escort studs to bring the wheels out to fill the arches properly, this gives a better look in my opinion.

Took about 2 hours to do mine, I also used a small screwdriver. It is quite a therapeutic job!

These are my MINILITE wheel nuts but my wheels have the taper steel seat insert in them to match the nut.

Am i Missing something,
seems to me that there should be something for the chrome trim to connect to, maybe other singer chamois owners will know.

Re: Singer Chamois CNA 476C
I made the ambulance glass rear window using 1/4" laminated double shadowlite ambulance glass, its very heavy though, too much for the IMP stays really.
The only thing missing from yours is the rubber surround holding the glass into the back lift up window frame otherwise it looks similar, youre probably better off as youve got it now, looks good still.
Really I suppose if youre going down the Greetham look you need the Astra Mk1 roof spoiler to complete the look, and the front mounted cibies, the spoiler which is now extremely hard to find especially now theres only about 5 of the original cars left on the road.
I wont be at national this year unfortunately my car wont be ready until next year and im not going in anything else wouldnt be right.
