Fraser Replica
hello Impers
This in Hamish who arrives next week to accompany Daisy the Rally imp ( the green one!)
Hamish previously belonged to Tom Blackwood and before that it was raced by Jim Mckenzie who built it as a replica of the 60's Fraser Imps.
I intend to fit metal boot, bonnet and doors and race it next year in HSCC series.
Hopefully Daisy will have a trick engine and gearbox fitted so I can do hillclimbs and sprints.
Freddie

Re: Fraser Replica
Why would you fit steel doors and bonnet when all the other hscc cars are running glass doors

I was going to ask the same question Col.
Lighter is surely one way to go faster?

Re: Fraser Replica
He doesnt say steel though he says metal so maybe its aluminium?? thats lighter and I suppose slightly stronger? maybe, and like how the Lotus Cortina had in the sixties?

Re: Fraser Replica
I take it if your re fitting steel panels your going to race in the 70's series ? If so won't you have to loose the webbers too ?

Re: Fraser Replica
you are all correct...its the pre 66 Historic Saloon series. I can keep webers but have to have steel doors etc. I even have to have a dash and window winders.
no great shakes but it does look sorted with the GRP items. fredster

Re: Fraser Replica
If you have to have metal panels and interior it's not the HSCC series you are looking at.

Re: Fraser Replica
It would be a shame to alter such a nice Imp.
One of my all time favourite builds on here, lovely car.

Re: Fraser Replica
hi
to race in the CTCRC I have to have steel doors and lids.
but it would be a shame to spoil a pristine looking imp.
maybe I should race in HSCC ?
Is it a friendly series ??

It's what your Imp was built for!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?
