There's a charming informal car museum near Hitchin where the exhibits seem to be more abandoned than displayed, you walk along a narrow roped path through the 'barns'...didn't stop my Uncle jumping over and opening bonnets, sitting inside with a 'I used to have one of these!' kid in a toy shop :D

No way - used to live there! Back in the days when I ran an Imp too - my parting shot was taking the car to a garage just up the road at Henlow village, and it failing its MoT again :x on brake shoes that had been contaminated by leaking seals... Had to move it on the back of a transport lorry in the end.

Whereabouts in Stondon is this place? I used to live in Hillside Road, right on the edge that leads up to Meppershall as I remember.

Sorry for the hijack!

Whereabouts in Stondon is this place?

It's thinly disguised as a garden centre from the outside.

How right you are. My old garage on the side of the house was 11m long and 5.5m wide with a four poster in one corner, overhead gantry and a huge storage platform above half of it. Didn't take me long to fill it... :?

All knocked down now, 70m2 footprint Cotswold Stone house extension going up (when it stops bl**dy raining) in it's place, with me having to survive in a new stone garage of only 39m2 in the front drive :( .

You can never have too much space
