Hi James,

Get it sorted, and if you can't, go anyway. I'll be there come Hell or high water!

Yep,

I have friends in Kingcoed which is nice and close so I'll be visiting them too. (If the weather's 'orrible I might even stay with them!).

I had to look that one up because I thought you must mean Cyncoed (pronounced roughly the same way) in north Cardiff, but it turns out that Kingcoed really does exist. (It translates - very badly - as King's Wood; a better Welsh name would be Coed y Brenin). There are some very odd place names in Monmouthshire, leading one to think that maybe they can't quite make up their minds whether they're Welsh or English. Or even French, given the existence of Llanvaches (St Cows?)...

Well, my mate is English and his wife is Welsh and their kids are Anglo-Welsh, so there you go!

I like Llancloudy. its on an awesome B road. Lost the bumper to my pug 309 there in a 3 foot flood once, and killed 14 rabbits and a pigeon on another occasion. there is even a yump at 60 mph which is erm interesting.

Nah, it was them or me. It was 5am in the summer and the rabbits were asleep on the road. started swerving but it all got a bit silly, so i just chose the best line <thud thud>.

The roads just by WWW, worth a drive out, i have not driven that road for 4 years now. It was not that good in the snow though i remember.

Could've been worse - last time I drove over the Beacons at night (the A-something or other from just past Storey Arms to Penderyn) the road was festooned with sleeping sheep. They completely ignored my occasional leaning on the horn or revving the engine, and just lay there while I practiced my slaloming skills. Daft creatures, yer sheep.
