IMP NATIONAL 2017 AUTO SOLO NUMBERS

Postby Colin Foster (heaps) » Thu May 04, 2017 6:25 am

I am negotiating with the estate owner to let us use a farm road to do an Autosolo, I have the permit application which has been granted but it requires me to advise them MSA of how many people will be doing it so they can charge the appropriate fee. I would be grateful if anyone interested could let me know so I can pay for an approximate number of cars and then it will be restricted to say 30 or 40 entries. (an entry will be a driver not a car, so 2 people sharing will be 2 entries) I cannot think of any other way to do this.
So if you would like to give your car a blast through some cones and down a dusty tarmac track on the Saturday afternoon then if you could indicate below and I will get an idea of numbers.I anticipate that with MSA costs and the charge the estate want it will be around £25 per entry for about 3 hours (how that works out in runs depends on the number of entries) but i'm hoping at least 3 or 4) It will work on a drive and marshal basis except for timekeepers, clerk and a couple of other essential volunteers.
I will post this on FB as well at some time so if you use both please don't use both to let me know
I hope this works

Sounds like a laugh Colin, put me down for it. Should have my Chamois at National.

Count me in, as long as it is reasonable level. Clan has only 2 inches ground clearance

Well, as I won an autotest at Snetterton in the Imp in March with SCCoN (Sporting Car Club of Norfolk), it would be rude not to enter!
Possibly my brother may also enter, so put another two on your list, with one being definite.

Please put me down for this. If it is oversubscribed I'm equally happy to marshal. I have some experience.

I have a bit of a problem which hhas arisen with this one. During the last meeting with the estate owner,he informed me that the road I wished to use was a public right of way (PROW) Idont have time now to apply for suspension of the PROW even if they would it would be difficult to run an autosolo on it. I am looking at another track/road that doesn't have a PROW on it but it is shorter so will have to be a doubleback on itself which will require reversing. I have submitted the revised route to the estate for approval so fingers crossed!

Hi Colin,

Unfortunately I won't have the Chamois at National now and I won't be throwing the Vogue around I'm afraid. :(
