Where's the thread for National?

Post by bazzateer » Sat Jul 23, 2016 8:21 am

I can't see a thread here for National this year, apart from the who's going and convoy ones.

Am I missing something? :?

There's a lot of information about the National on the Imp Club's website http://www.theimpclub.co.uk/imp-2016/ including ways to pre-book for Imp Club members and whats going on during the weekend.

I was looking for it too. I guess it's here! Thanks for starting it Baz! :D

Any geocachers going to National? My children and I have recently started cache hunting and we're hoping we can join up with like-minded people for some fun and advice. Also, if anyone's thinking of upgrading their GPS (not phone or car satnav) I'm in the market for a second hand unit.

Thank you!

While we're here - does anyone have a spare windscreen wiper I could buy please? My nearside one is ever so very slightly less than satisfactory. :?

Bob supplied me with a pair of his finest, he will need to know the size of yours so he can send you ones that will fit, theres different for the IMP range, originals would have been stainless polished, and you can get now black if you wish, he needs to know length of arms, blades, blade to arm bayonet type/fixing sizes and whether Sport or Standard as theres different spring pressures so make sure you check EXACTLY what youve got now and get the same.

Thanks Nun. I've got one original shiny arm and one modern equivalent. I'm aiming for a pair of shiny originals. I had to replace the worn blade yesterday because there was the minor matter of an MOT to get through (failed  ), at which point I realised that the one that looks OK is also failing.

I'll be bringing Celyn to National, warts an' all, and will be seeking help on getting her through the re-test next week. Let's face it, if I can't get the help I need at National, the world may as well end now!

Fran sadly if you imp has failed it's not it's not advised that you drive it anywhere other than too and from the MOT testing station. Even if you have a month of MOT left that month is now void. With the new database the second your car is logged on the computer that it has failed that goes into the big data base and if you drive past an AMPR camera you could face fines / invalid insurance etc. I'm sure bazz will correct me if I'm wrong !

Correct, Dom. :!:

Fran, as Dom says, you would be unwise to drive Celyn with no MOT. Sorry to say. :( It's only permissible to drive a vehicle without a valid MOT to an arranged appointment for an MOT inspection.

However, if the wiper blade was the failure point, that should be easy to fix. And cheap! :D In some motor factors, you can get just the rubber insert part and then cut it to length. That should get you through.

Good luck. I hope to see you and Celyn gracing the show field this weekend. :)

Only got down Saturday about 4pm, but had a great evening meeting friends from home and abroad, and an equally good day on Sunday - despite my Husky not being ready, so attending in an Alfa!

Congrats to all the organisers and volunteers for all their hard work, and of course to the birthday girl, Rosemary, for her continued support for the Club :)

What a fantabulistic weekend that was! Excellent weather; fun runs out which my husband and children thoroughly enjoyed; excellent food; brilliant location. Very well done to all the organising team, and to Graham for being the one whereat the buck stopped.

Massive thanks to all those who helped and offered help with getting Celyn road-safe. You know who you are, and you're all wonderful.

Roll on the next one!

Thats really down to the person posting the images, put them on FB and then onto the Forum at the same time, some do Noddy always posts twice which is good so everyone gets to see the post, ok those on computer do, but theres many now on FB who arent club members who must be posting IMP related too so wont ever put them on the club forum too as theres no reason in their opinion to do so.
FB hasnt really done the club much favours as I see it?
