Brooklands

Post by Colin Foster (heaps) »

Anybody planning a visit to Brooklands on New Years Day? We'll be there with our eclectic fleet, Imp Californian, Ami 6 with caravan, Land Rover series 2a or Clan (haven't decided yet)
Any one else going?

Hi Colin,

Yes, am hoping to go to this one again. Always plenty to see, wheeled or winged.

I'm planning to be there. Can't guarantee Imp-related transport because the cylinder head may be off (slight head gasket seepage and low compression). In which case it will be 1961 Saab two-stroke or 1965 Rover 2000, which has just replaced the 1967 Rover I sold and then wished I hadn't. The new one is a better example so it all worked out right in the end.

I am planning on going, is it worth booking a club parking space?

Having been to the Brooklands meet twice whilst I lived in London, I am considering trying to find a New Year's Day meet up near my new home of Houghton Regis. :D

Weather's looking good for Friday, does anyone know if we have a defined area to park together like last year? (Or, to be pedantic, this year!)

EDIT: Forecast is now heavy rain. :x I'll play it by ear, shan't bother coming if it's going to be raining all day.

The weather forecast is saying mainly dry at the moment. If it is confirmed that I am not required to work I might venture out for a very rare winter outing in the imp.
