The Big Welsh Classic Car Show - 20th September 2015

Post by RoyBlunt » Mon Mar 16, 2015 10:36 pm

This is a new show - but basically replaces the old, much lamented, Tredegar House Rallies. As before it is organised by, and is on behalf of, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. The location is Margam Park - just off J38 of the M4 about 2 miles from Port Talbot. Link for details and registration below:

I'm hoping that we can have a club stand as such so the signage would be useful. Have asked Rachael (the organiser) if there will be proper 'reserved space' club stands or if it is a case of '..if you want to park together you must arrive together..' (as at St. Fagans). Will let you know.
Are you planning to be at the show?

Roy

From the Terms & Conditions....
Margam.PNG

I don't usually read them !

So we'll need to arrange a meet place so that we arrive in convoy.. assuming we all get a place (see point1 above)..

Please find reply from Rachael below (in blue). Hopefully it will be sorted satisfactorily. It is their first show at Margam so we might expect a few organisational issues - might be dependent upon how many marshals they can get. If not I suspect that there will be a lot of clubs looking for meeting places around Margam Park on the Sunday morning!!!

Hello Roy
Things are going very well, lots to think about but we are pleased with the response so far.
We aim to put club members together so as long as people have put which club they belong to on their form they will be sited with their club. Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Rachael

Subject: Query about Club Stands at The Big Welsh Classic Car Show
Hi Rachael,
Hope that the entries are flooding in! Just a query on the show organisation - will there be provision for Club Stands as at Tredegar Park (i.e. an area reserved for club cars specifying the club on their entry forms) or will it be case of '..if you want to park together you must arrive together..'?
Many thanks
Roy

Hi Roy, I noticed that this show is the weekend before WWW which I am attending so guess what?? Yep, decided to make my stay in Wales a bit longer and I've just registered my details for The Big Welsh Classic Car Show :D It's only 446 miles away and I'll have the Paradiso folding caravan in tow as well, looking forward to it :D

Not sure if it was just a glitch but it took ages for the payment to process, if anyone else is experiencing problems, just leave it a while and it does go through....eventually!

Cheers Jim

That's great Jim, be really pleased to see you at Margam & WWW. Let me know if we can be of any help to you while you are down here - home is just outside Cwmbran. As Phil & Lesley said, we'll keep you informed over plans for meeting up beforehand.

Has anyone received conformation of entry for the show yet? Other than an email confirming receipt of my application, I've heard nothing, the email said that conformation of entry would be sent out no later than the end of August??

Cheers Jim

Hi Peter, my entry arrived today. No mention of a club stand as such but I'm in section 4 Row Q pitch H, how does that compare to other Imps that are going?

Cheers Jim

Ours arrived today - Section 4, Row R Pitch E whatever that means.. We stated "Imp Club" on the entry form, so would hope we can be together. As it's the first under the new organisers I suppose that a few teething problems will occur.

Just got back home today after a week away without e-mail access, etc. We are in Section 4, Row Q, Pitch f, so it looks as if we are together on the showground - thus there is no real need to arrange a meeting point or to turn up at the showground together.

Cheers

Looks like Imp Club stand is next to HRCR stand
In same section 4, HRCR have back to back rows R and Q and I have row R pitch d ie right next to you Phil. So I can actually be with two clubs at the same time!

Great turnout. 8 Imps together in a row (6 on the Imp Club stand and 2 on the HRCR stand - the two stands being next to each other) plus Richard's Mk1 out in the non-club area. Many thanks for your support.
