The Yorkshire Start of Season Run is planned for Sunday 22 March.
The Start will be from the Wetherby Services at J46 on the A1M.
The Services are off the Motorway and access is from the Roundabout.
This junction is well signed for the access to Wetherby Racecourse.

Start Time will be 10.00 for 10.30 to give a chance for a coffee, bacon butty etc.
Fuel is also available at the Service Station.

I'm out today to check the route and mileages, so more information available later.

From Wetherby Services, the route will head off north following the course of the old A1 which still exists alongside the A1M.
Then head off West through various small villages including Burton Leonard & Markington to Fountains Abbey.
It then curves around to drop down into Patelely Bridge.
When I was out yesterday, there was snow on the Moorland areas, but fortunately, not much on the roads.
Then a big climb out up Greenhow Hill to the halt at Stump Cross Cavern. About 40miles to lunch for about 12.
Platter and chips will be about a fiver. Or scones and coffees a bit less.
We won't have time to do the Cave Tour.
But I've arranged to have exclusive use of the Video Room, and watch the film of the caves whilst we eat.
Then onto Grassington, Conistone, Kilnsey and Kettlewell.
The route then climbs steeply, past Whernside, into Coverdale.
A long run down to Coverham, and then via Leyburn to Bedale.
The end of run meal will be at a pub in Bedale with parking at the rear.
From here it is an easy jump onto the A1M, as I know most cars will be heading south after the Run.
I haven't Totalled up the pm mileages yet, but I expect it to less than the morning, and bit more of a drive, as it's well into the Dales, especially, after the first gear climb out of Kettlewell.
It's getting late, and I just lost a load of stuff. I must have hit a strange key on the Laptop.
Anyway, the Finish is at Bedale with a pub meal organised.
It is easy from here to get back on theA1M to head off South.
The Pub has a wide Menu at around a tenner. I haven't eaten there before, but it looked good.
I still have to confirm a few things.
I will put the info on here, and email York & Barnsley AC's. Other AC's are welcome to join us, but then I will need to know numbers for catering.
More Later.

Last call for the Yorkshire Start of Season Run.
So, let me know if you are planning to come along.
It's about an 80 mile run with a break mid way at Stump Cross Caverns.
There is a cafe at Stump Cross, and we have sole use of the "Cavern Room" so we can stay together for our Lunch.
There will be a Video of the cave history showing.

We now have around 10 crews coming out,so the Run is on.
Sadly, not everyone is an Imp, but they are Club Members.

It's too late to order Lunch at Stump Cross, but you can use the regular Cafe facilities.
I'd like to know if you want a meal at the end, as it helps the Pub to know what numbers to cater for.
Finish time will be around 4-5pm, and there is easy access to the A1M from the finish at Bedale.
