Thats actually a big well done considering the amount of other stands and the variety of cars that could be there also.
I last went in 1984, it was good then too.
A picture would be great, if you can get it to post here.

Congratulations to everyone concerned, it was a good stand
Clean, not cluttered, and a good selection of cars along with a nice high sign so that it could be found easily

Re: IMP CLUB wins "Most Interesting Selection Of Cars " Awa
Here are some photos I took on the Sunday I could attend. Cilckable photos BTW. Cant help thinking there are a few caption competition potentials in there.
[
I did a search to find someone who took photos of this years show as I wanted to find a casual observers interest in the stand.
Genuinely this is the first one I found.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/bedworth/ ... 007809374/
There are quite a few more cars on there from this years show if anybody is interested in a virtual tour.
I noticed that Jon Bentley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Bentle ... esenter%29 from the Gadget show took a huge interest in the Zimp. But virtually ignored everything else on the stand. But I didn't have my camera with me when he was there.
I can't thank Peter enough for his help in getting me home on the Thursday. The guy deserves a medal for that.
Everybody deserves much praise for putting this all together. You can only appreciate it when your there watching it all take shape and break down.
I still don't understand why cars were running engines waiting for NEC staff to open the doors to get out.
It reminded me of a traffic jam not moving in the Tyne tunnel.

Re: IMP CLUB wins "Most Interesting Selection Of Cars " Awa
Congrats on the award, well deserved by the incredible variety of cars you brought together.
Thanks also for the link to the other photos too, some outstanding photos there. Was the 007 Esprit a real movie car? The Stobart Reliant 3-wheeler is a laugh, as was the bare-metal Jensen Interceptor. Was that Monty's Humber I saw too?
Is this car https://www.flickr.com/photos/bedworth/ ... 7007809374 an Imp-powered Probe 15?
Did anyone see the auction of the Talbot Lotus Sunbeam, that must have been entertaining.

There could be a good reason. If you look at the front of the Zimp then Jon, they have the same eyesimp.sport wrote: I noticed that Jon Bentley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Bentle ... esenter%29 from the Gadget show took a huge interest in the Zimp. I thought so anyway.

Hi John875 - I think that is a Probe 16 which, if I'm right, had a Landcrab engine. Cheers - Simon

If I was on my home computer I could look up for a photo of a Mini Moke dressed up with vertical truck exhaust stacks, bull bar, Mack bulldog bonnet mascot etc.pubcrawler wrote:That was embarrassing, although a lot of work had gone into itjohnh875 wrote: The Stobart Reliant 3-wheeler is a laugh...........
Thanks Simon, at least I was on the right track.
I was interested to read that the auction's Bentley Continental R was one of 3 RHD automatics; one of the other two was auctioned last month here in Melbourne as part of the Motorclassica show, for just over AUD$1m (approx £583k). There was a nice piece of symmetry that it was originally sold at the 1955 Melbourne Motor Show in the same Royal Exhibition Building as the show & auction was held in.
Can't post the photo, so here is a link:

Wow, what a fantastic line up of cars, that was very large stand they allowed the club to have.
