One or 2 people have overpaid when booking for Imp 2014.
Please note that a day or weekend pass is only required if you are not camping on site - the camping fee is inclusive.

Oh the 10 quid day pass, is that it?

Quick update on National...

Advance booking is going very well, another 5 in the post today, but if you haven't sent your form in yet and are planning to attend, there is still time to post it or to enter via the website and save yourself a few quid in the process. Advance booking closes next weekend after which the prices go up to the 'at event' rates.

Karen will be in rally control for most of the weekend but will be happy to take membership renewals at quieter times, preferably not if there is a queue waiting to book in!

We have had music requests from a few people for Saturday evening, if you have preferences, let me know in the next few days and we can let the DJ know.

Cheers - Simon

OK - website bookings removed on the closing date - there are a couple of bookings we know about in the post, so if you send a booking first class by Wed, it should get to us in time. After that, we'll see you at Huntingdon :D :D

For those going on the run ending at the Cambridge Park and Ride be aware that today they introduced a £1 parking charge at the park and ride car park which resulted in absolute chaos as people queued to pay. Also be aware that the Park and Ride buses issue no change and bus passes are not accepted!

As if the bus isn't expensive enough already! They really seem to hate car drivers in Cambridge. Oh well, thanks for the update.
Personally I am not planning to do that run, a visit to the shuttlewotrth collection at Old Warden is on the cards for me. It turns out there is no special event there on that weekend.

Simon Imp004

You had me worried for a minute there, Simon :o

Having visited Old Warden as part of my initial planning last summer I found out it's hosting the NSRA Hot Rod Supernationals over the same weekend as Imp 2014. As the show's only open to the public on the Sunday and isn't a flying day, it's not included in their event calendar.

I'm not sure how the show affects individual public access to the Shuttleworth Collection but due to the size of this show they can't host large group visits like ours on that weekend.

Graham thank you for pointing that out, sorry if I misled anyone. I am surprised such an event is not mentioned in there events calendar, especially as it's open to the public on the Sunday.

Imp 2014 - Lead Organisers update - 27/07/2014

Postby ganderson888 » Sat Jul 26, 2014 7:48 pm

Unfortunately our Webmaster is currently without internet access so we will be unable to update the club website before the event.
If you are aware of other members who are coming to Imp 2014 but don’t use the Forum please could you pass on this information to them.

As of today we have received;
181 Advance Bookings for 397 members, their families and friends

Having a hotel on site has proved very popular and room booking numbers are:
Thursday 25, Friday 32, Saturday 35, Sunday 24 and there may be more that have booked outside of our reserved room arrangements.

A couple of reminders for all Hotel users
There are no streetlamps on the road from the Imp 2014 site so please bring a good torch with you.

If you are using your car to visit the event during the evening please park in the Assembly Area and take care and look out for pedestrians when driving back to the hotel.

Sunday morning arrivals
For those visiting in Imps and other classics who wish to be included in the Voting for Awards please arrive no later than 10.30am and report to Rally Control.

Disabled Parking
Due to the size and the layout of the venue and to assist our less mobile visitors we will be providing Disabled Parking bays in a location convenient for the marquee, showers and restaurant.
To ensure these areas are not misused please ask for details when booking in at Rally Control on arrival.

Volunteer Update
Another volunteer is required for the evenings. We would like to have a tee-total member(s) preferably with a ‘modern’ who would be willing to be on standby as a driver in the evenings.

The Bar
The Ale has been ordered: Sharp’s Doombar, Woodford's Wherry, Fosters, Stella and Guinness.
Plus bottles of Becks and a Bladder of Weston’s cider, as well as bottles of Magners

The Urn
We expect to have basic tea/coffee facilities available in the Rugby Club – we do not have enough volunteers to man this continuously, so we will have an honesty box for payments (50p per cup).
Please bring your own cup/mug or buy one from Sue at Regalia.
If you drink fruit/herbal teas or decaff, please bring your own supplies!

Drinking Water
Drinking water for campers will be available in two locations

- For all caravans and motorhomes the easiest option is on your left in the Arrivals area in front of Rally Control. Use the lane closest to the hedge and fill up before going on to the campsite.

- There is another tap on the outside wall of the rugby clubhouse to the right of the main entrance opposite the main marquee.
Note this is in a pedestrianised area of the venue

Chemical toilet and grey water disposal point
The chemical toilet and grey waste water emptying point is located by the shower trailers.

Trailer Storage area
There will be a secure enclosed area available for trailers

Friday's Scenic run to the Nene Valley Railway
Please ensure that you buy your tickets for the train before leaving the racecourse as this will save time on arrival at the railway.
They will be on sale at Rally Control on Thursday afternoon and on Friday morning.
Tickets can be bought at the NVR from an Imp Club marshal for anyone travelling there directly on the day.

If you haven’t seen our previous update on the website you can view it and lots of other info here

http://www.theimpclub.com/events-3/imp- ... al-update/

Look forward to seeing you at Huntingdon Racecourse

A few more bits of info…

If you have made an Advance Booking and you are unable to attend for any reason please could you let Simon know BEFORE your planned arrival time/ date so that arrangements can be made to provide a full refund.

If you have any last minute questions regarding Imp 2014 please post them here and we will endeavour to answer them quickly as possible.
Please bear in mind there may be some delay in replying as we will be finalising our preparations over the next few days and then setting up the venue.

Spares and Items for re-conditioning

Postby spares » Sun Jul 27, 2014 11:45 am

Mornin' All,

this weekend I'm packing a selection of Imp Club Spares to bring down to Huntingdon. We will have a stall in the marquee alongside Malcolm Anderson and Ian Toon. Members are welcome to come and browse, have a chat, or even make a purchase or too!

I'll also be collecting items at the event for re-conditioning. These include:
    water pump
    radiator
    clutch cover
    clutch plate
    brake shoes
    Weber carburettors (only joking...)

If you have any items you don't want, please do the Club a favour and drop them off for us.

Hope to see everyone in Huntingdon!
Sincerely, Bob (Imp Club Spares)

Anybody Know what time the Friday run departs, as thats arrival day for me and I want to be there before it leaves

Hannah, think your now down to turning up on the day, it's a £10 for a day pass and you need to be on site before 10.30 if you want to be in the show/voting

The July edition of Impressions says that the round trips depart at 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. I think that means the train departures from the station at Nene Valley Railways. Departure times from Huntingdon Racecourse are not evident in the article that I am looking at, unless I am missing them. :?

Correct. Just turn up and buy a Day Pass at Rally Control at the entrance to the site. Enjoy! And safe journey!

Yes, anyone who hasn't pre booked should turn up at rally control and we will book you in and provide the information needed to enjoy the event.

Setting up almost done now.

Dogs on leads are permitted and there are allocated dog walking areas.

The trip on the NVR will be leaving the racecourse as and when people want to - we suggest around 10.00 am for those wishing to enjoy the scenic drive first and wanting to go on the first train run at 12:30. For those planning a more leisurely day, there will be a second train journey at 14:30.

Cheers - Simon

Just a quick note to thank everyone for the many comments, private messages and emails that Simon and I have received over the past week.
It’s really heartening to know that the hard work that many of us put in over the past 12 months is appreciated by everyone.

We are both very pleased with how the event ran with very few issues behind the scenes which many won’t have noticed.
For example, 160 odd voting forms to sort through was quite a mission for Simon and Chris on Sunday.

As ever there’s still a little more work to do including reconciling data, sorting out the equipment and signs, and report writing so there’s another few days work ahead of us but at least we can now relax over a beer or three and reflect on what was undoubtedly a great success.

Finally I must thank everyone who played a part in the organisation before, during and after the event, we honestly couldn't have done it without you and it is those members who give so much, so freely that makes the Imp Club as good and friendly as it is,

Thank You!
Graham and Simon
