National Classic Car day - 4th April 2014

Post by Mechnowhiz » Fri Apr 04, 2014 9:15 am

Chris Evans (Radio 2) has declared the 4th of April National Classic Car day. Apparently, the criteria is ‘if you consider it a classic, then its OK’

Sounds like a great idea to me.

Will you be taking part, and what car will you be using?

Also, if it rains will you still be taking part?

Sunbeam out at home and ready to go, came home with a stupid smile on my face!!!

Ha bit of rain, eccess boost and side ways to work!! Just looked out to see, 1 Sunbeam Turbo, 1 SAAB 99 Turbo, 1 Ford Consul, 1 SAAB 900 Turbo, 1 Renault 4, 1 Hillman Imp and a Mini!!! All excited now, must be coffee time (again)

Sadly, I failed in my quest this morning to drive Pele to work... running late etc etc, so my 'classic' Golf GTi will have to do...

Bleak, rainy, and kids late getting ready meant the Imp stayed in the garage this morning despite my best intentions.

But, if anyone asks I can legitimately say i came to work in my Mini Cooper. (albeit a 'BMW' one).

Its actually the first friday of april he has declared, based on those who have to pay for road tax will often only pay for 6 months beginning april.

I'm working on the van if that counts. Im on holiday but cant use my own vehicle for work so would never be able to take part.

Drove the Imp, as normal, and saw an MGA on my way in. He even waved, which is unusual from someone in something shiny and valuable.
