Thanks to the Gurns for all, and to everyone who was there for their company.
One of the great weekends, just everything was good.
Our break-down was jammy being (a) a quarter of a mile from the site, mostly downhill, and (b) fixed in minutes by Bob's spare fuel pump. Thanks all!
Home now, and there's wet stuff coming out of the sky - didn't see any of that in Wales!!!

Dom. I have to say that I'm rather glad NOT to have been there to witness the mankini. In terms of "wrongness" that is a very, very close second to the Trevor Woods and Steve Grays "Baywatch Babes". Hang your head Tom Dooley.

Great weekend as always, my 8th Wicked Welsh! Some pics to follow........

Great run out on Friday - again next year please!

Perfect weather, warm nights, great company, thoroughly enjoyed it..................until...........................

Unfortuantely LNK was sidelined on the return from Big Pit. It seems Noddy has fitted a device to the Vusky which causes any overtaking Imp to suffer a burnt valve as it draws level with him.......................................... :(

LNK and The Slagroom all set up on Thursday

I also have a video on my phone from this morning but am currently experiencing difficulties in transferring it to my computer. Watch this space ....................................

What a fantastic weekend - thanks to Neil, Tina and Adam!

For the first time in ages on a club weekend I had a number of breakdowns. First we had a cracked exhaust before we set off (welded up on the drive). Then on the way there we had a serious misfire/loss of power on the motorway, combined with the temp gauge rising rapidly. After changing the points/condenser/rotor arm/cap/fuel filter in the motorway services this was no better, but there was no sign of mayo or loss of coolant so we limped to the event at speeds down to 10mph in first to get up the hills in the Malverns and then started checking things - the fault was eventually traced to rusty HT leads (never seen that before!). Fortunately the chap camped next to us had some push-fit emergency spares so we swapped them for our emergency spares which were for a side-entry dizzy cap! I hope he got home ok!

This got us going again and the car seemed sound with no trace of the original problem. All was well until the Sunday run where we caused a bit of a calamity - the car died of fuel starvation just as we set off from the look out point on the scenic run! This was a real problem because we blocked most of the cars off from following Neil. We stopped and let the car cool down, pumped some fuel through by hand and set off again. We got to Abergavenny and the same happened again when filling up for petrol. The fault was traced to a badly worn fuel pump with a lot of play in the mechanism. I had a spare in the boot so I fitted it, and when priming it by hand petrol started pouring through a split diaphragm - so I swapped he diaphragm from the worn out pump to the pump with the split diaphragm and made one good one out of the two - we fitted this and hey presto, normal service was resumed. We stopped again at the site and then set off home and the car didn't miss another beat.

Weird how these problems come together - I use the car almost every day for work and none of these problems had been apparent!

An awesome weekend

Cheers
Simon

Well there goes another Wicked Welsh, thank you all for the kind words, special thanks to Roy Blunt and his team for sorting out the Friday run, Mikey Hearne for sorting out the PA system for us, Colin Wells for helping me alter route instructions at the last minute and everyone that made the effort to be there with us, I didn't manage to take any pics over the weekend so if anyone has any to share it would be apreciated.
Roll on next year!!! :D

Got home fine thanks, was an excellent weekend.

After a national where I hardly saw anyone taking an Imp apart ( as far as I know it was just one head gasket and even that car managed to drive home ) it was good to see things back to normal with two gear box failures, two fuel pumps, one exhaust valve.............

What a great weekend. Really enjoyed ourselves. Many thanks to everyone who came along and made the weekend such a success with special thanks to Neil, Tina and Adam and our Friday run team mates, Roy and Dawn who tested the route twice.

It looks like Gill & John have happened upon a new Saturday night challenge!

Just for Trevor Woods and Mikey, of course : Some while back I used to produce these and sell them as a pack on eBay. Not all types are shown here, but you get the drift of their usefulness. Especially if you have a memory lapse, eh Trev ? One in particular would have been just the ticket  Pink might have stood out bestest

Neil, article not received. Please could you remind whoever it was you asked if they could send/resend urgently for inclusion in Nov mag.

Alternatively, if anyone reading this would like to send something in it would be much appreciated both by me and Impressions readers (many of whom do not access the Forum). Thanks.
