As the year comes to an end, i've started thinking about how many events I can get to next year :D So as i've never Gone Dutch, I know the dates, but i've no idea where it is. :o So are there any hotels near to the location? as I doubt I can get Kim to do a tent

It's true that the majority stay in tents, caravans and motorhomes.
But every GD an increasing number of people request a bungalows or staticcaravan.
This year we have reserved 6 bungalows (sleeping 6 max) with more in reserve.
So there is no need for a tent!
All details will be revealed in the next Impressions.
If you still want a hotel or B&B after you read all info, just drop me a line.
A disadvantage is that you'll sleeping 'away' from all the fun!

Nice to hear you are thinking of coming over!

Hi Japp and All !

Happy New Year ! We're all looking forward to another Going Dutch experience, although this year my daughter Lauren won't be coming as she is hoping to have her own home by then and money will be directed elsewhere. However, I am trying to get my brother ( who is a new Imper !! ) to share the trip with me instead. When he decides, I'll make my booking 8)

Cheers, Andy G. Image

Thought we had booked, but "Who's Coming" seems to be stuck at 18 (without us!) and has been for a few days.
Hope it's just someone has been too busy to update!

We might, I emphasize MIGHT, be able to book the Midland circuit in Lelystad again.
During Going Dutch 2001 we used it also!
It is a small circuit where sprints/slaloms can be held against the clock (one car at the time).
If my memory is correct Simon Benoy's Ginetta was fastest car of the day in 2001.

We are looking at Friday 23rd May or Saturday 24th May.
For those not interested we will have a nice scenic run.

We need a minimum of 15 cars at €75 (60 pounds) for the day.
The circuit is available from 10.00 to 17.00 and there will be plenty time for several runs.
A definite decisions has to be made on 15th February, so can I have your input before that date?

Jaap

For those of us who have reserved bungalows when will the campsite be contacting us? No rush but I just want to make sure I don't miss the email.

All bookings are passed to the campsite and I have confirmation that they received all information. In the winter and they don't work at 'full steam' at the campsite, so it can take a little more time.

No worries about availability, we have blocked enough bungalows and Mobile homes to cover the bookings we have so far.

As we are going to Friesland in 2014, should we repaint our orange 2013 front grills into a black and white cow pattern in honour of the eponymous cows? 8)

A good point well made Jaap, Orange is a fine National Colour.
On the other hand, cow pattern black and white grills might be rather more fun and a lot more of a "conversation starter" ;-)
Are you up for it Baz?

Probably not with hind-sight Bob. Got to get the garage finished before I can prepare the Imp for GD so not sure if I'll have the time or inclination - may just stick with the orange for now.

We're trying to get leave booked arranged tomorrow - plan is to be on the Wednesday night ferry too and return Monday afternoon - it's a long way from South Wales so late return home on Tuesday morning! Other option was 3am start for the Thursday morning. Hope to get leave approved tomorrow and then complete bookings.

Looking forward to our first GD..
