Cranleigh Lions Car Show

Post by J-IMP » Thu Jun 30, 2011 6:24 pm

We attended this last year with a few local impers, just wonderd if anyone else wanted to join us this year. If numbers are good then I will get a stand reserved for us.

It was a very good day last year, lots of cars and bikes from all ages. Food was good to, I think I had sweet and sour noodles

Have a look at the link below for more details:

It says applications for clubs closes tomorrow.

If the MG is available and I'm not on call I'll head over as it's only down the road.

James, what happened to the passes ? Also, did I hear that a few have dropped out ? Perhaps a "bump" of this thread might get replacements sorted.

Hi people,
Only just managed to catch up with this thread. Im not sure if I will make it to the mid meet month in Bognor to hand out passes so I have enlisted the help of Little Lofty G to do this for me. :)

Also I would like you all to confirm your attendance as I have a waiting list of cars wanting to attend and would hate to have empty spaces on the stand.
I have noted that Gill is only taking one car and that space is provisonaly taken buy a mate of Colins.

Below is the list of attendees if you are not able to make it to the meet to pick up your pass I will have a full set of copies with me on the day and you can phone me when your at the gate and I will run a pass out to you.

I'm thinking of maybe a mini convoy from the Broadbrige Heath Shell garage on the A24 on the morning.

Right on the way to the show we will be stopping at

Broadbridge Heath Shell Horsham on the A24
Guildford Road Horsham RH12 3NS

To meet up with anyone going to the show, we will be at the petrol station for 7.30ish to meet, which should get us to show ground for around 8ish.

Can anyone bring a small gazebo for shelter? Plus we will need cookers, kettles, water canisters tea, coffe and milk for the day.

I thought James was organising this outdoor event ? And for anyone else who's hard of thinking, you'll need your own cup, those who take sugar can either give up for the day or supply their own. Ditto for seats, spoons, cakes and/or biscuits, hats for rain and sun, a big woolly jumper (just in case it snows), camera, wellies, sucky-sweets, petrol, oil and water, your Imp or Imp derived vehicle, a means of finance for spurious purchases, sensible clothing and sensible shoes (we want none of this Emperors clothes mallarky at this venue, if you don't mind).
if you are not able to make it to the meet to pick up your pass I will have a full set of copies with me on the day
As I have now printed these off in full living colour, I will have them at the Shell garage for those not going to the mid-month and with me also for the rest of the day. Though I draw the line at RUNNING to the gate to hand them over to anyone who arrives late or doesn't make either option above. I can mail them special delivery if required for £50 per ticket  Paid by PayPal in advance.

i,ve spent this afternoon removing the gearbox from the Chammy , found the cause of the major loss of oil to be the breather tube missing from the end cap , thereby letting oil escape when the air expands in the box. swiped a tube from another box and fitted it .just got a few cables to connect and job done :D

So should be up and running for the show 8)
