Great Michel, congratulations!!!

Michel's Clan and a couple more of imp based "racers" can be seen at the "Montée Historique du Maquisard" (http://www.ecurie-ardennes.be/images/fi ... uisard.pdf). Great fun and a glass of Gales Héritage for all Imper's on our stand.
See you at the "Montée"

I'll be there, early in the morning, with my son and the Opel Kadett C (GTE replica)N°36.
The Aston 1925 on the publicity poster" Maquisard 2011" will be there too.
It's a real race car(only 3 in the world)...a long time before David Brown.

/\/\Looks bizarre! Do you put the valves in through the cylinders before fitting the pistons?
Do me a deal? Employ me for 3 days and pay me for what I'm currently being paid for 5, then I'll have time to do everything!

Yes,but I put the guides after the valves, with 2 fingers(don't need tools for the guides).
The angle of the valves(cross flow)is a problem, the big hole(guides) is the solution.

The lubrication of the camshafts is also a problem(ball bearings).
The solution is the 3 copper pipes in front of the engine. The driver can control or change the oil pressure on the dashboard,in each camshaft and in the timing driveshaft separately.

Clever stuff. Looks like the driver has plenty to do besides drive, mind!

Fabulous photos, Jac. :D Thank you for sharing them.

Monoblock engines were common in the 1920s and 1930s - and before. Not so common post about 1940, I believe.

Thank you IM,
except after WWII engines DB4 to 6,XK120 and Typ.E,I don't know the golden years of the british technology.
No workshop manual for the fabulous 1925 16 valves,no help and no parts from Aston workshop, they were too busy with the succes of the DB9s.
