Reading the post about the National 2019 I would like to know who the lead organiser is, but I cannot find a clue who 'Impman1965' is.
I've been to all Nationals since 1995 and I probably know you.

Please please sign off with your name, it makes it a bit more personal!

Hi Jaap, I keep saying this all the time & it don't seem to happen !! All posts should have a name at the bottom !!
Impman1965 is Rob Machin & is not lead organiser now maybe ?? Richurd Murtha is I believe ? who you will know ?
Hope you are a lot better now ? than at the National !.....Regards Malcolm Imp006 Imp009 Husky003 Van001

Richard - are the dates for National 2019 confirmed yet? I’ve already had a couple of enquiries.
Thanks - Lynda

I will let richard confirm the dates but fairly sure they are as first post. Media man is on board and will be along soon to introduce himself and provide some info. He is a good friend of mine and we have already mapped out the first leg of the tour that will be running on the Saturday. He has vast experience of running rallies and providing media coverage on events. We will have the route mapped fully and will drive it early November this year to make sure it all flows and is easy to follow, keep an eye on this thread for info.We will be providing some instructions on how to follow the road book and a few pictures of some of the roads you will using and views you can expect to see.

Moose and All..

I am honoured to be involved with this event.

Look forward to helping out on Imp 2019, as well as delivering media I am also an Imp fanatic and have been known to sit at the other side of Moose in his car and abuse him. My first car was a Stiletto and oh how I wish it was still in my possession!

The route we will provide will be in some of the classic Lancashire valley and moorland lanes, a lot of which have been used in the past for road rally events. We can assure you of delightful roads, beautiful views and some great watering holes along the way. We are hoping to add a treasure hunt to the run to make it even more fun, the directions will be on a simple to follow tulip-style road book which Moose and I will explain to those who want to take part in the coming months on this Forum. No special equipment will be needed to take part.

For those that can't attend, we will be delivering live feeds, stills and reports from the show - as well as the run - across the various social media outlets during Imp 2019.

OK guys - seeking general input......

I was given strong hints from our Dutch contingent at National this year that we should have a track day for IMP19.

I've looked into this and the only real viable circuit within striking distance of Preston is 3 Sisters at Ashton-in Makerfield near Wigan. Its a Kart circuit really, but used for car testing - I've tested an Alfa 75 V6 there - and for multi-venue rallies, so should be fine for Imps.

We can have the use of the circuit for 2 hours on the Friday evening of the National Weekend - on track 6 - 8pm, with facilities (cafe etc) at the venue available until around 10 if needed. Because of the size of the venue, they allow 8 cars on track at the same time - so if people want say 2 x 15 minute sessions we could accommodate say 32 cars.

32 cars would work out at £60 each.....obviously more people would make it cheaper but less track time. Less participants equals more tracktime but higher costs...I'm sure you can all do the sums :)

So, looking for an early indication of what interest there would be in this - bearing in mind for noise reasons it has to be road cars only, although if your race car is road-legal that may well be OK. Obviously not binding on anyone at present, but I need to be able to tell the Committee if there is a reasonable chance of the trackday being cost-neutral. A quick "yes" or "No" will be fine at this stage please? And if you can spread the word to anyone who spends more time on FB than here that would help, though I'll probably post on FB too.

If this isn't a goer I have a backup plan to consider a karting evening at a venue in Preston...I'll look more into that if we can't make a trackday work.

Regards

I haven't been to a National since Anglesey (a good track night there) so I'm keen to do this one. :)

Terrierist Kev and I will be driving the tour route on the 10th and 11th of Nov to write the road book check back here soon for more detail. We will also be producing guides on how to use the trip either on the car or mobile phone, tips on reading the road book etc etc so that you can enjoy the tour round without getting lost or having to drive within 3 ft of the car in front. There will be sat nav references on each page to get you to the next page start so if you do go wrong you can pick the route back up without missing too much of it.

More to follow.

Today Kev terriorist and I have driven the route and checked the mileages, roads etc, some cracking driving roads and lovely scenery for you all. Road book will be a draft within a couple of days and I will then drive it again to fine tune also get two friends who have never rallied and do not know what a road book is and send them off round the route if they make it round without issue anyone can. Anyone wanting to do the tour and is worried about the navigation, we will be posting on here, facebook and impressions on the lead up to the event with guidance on what to do.
