I'll be there. I also could do with a massive favour, I managed to smack the carbon bib spoiler earlier this week (thought the puddle was shallow, turned out to be a 3/4 inch deep dip and damaged it!) is there any chance I could buy some resin off ya to repair one part of it - I have other resin for my Ginetta but would rather use the same stuff as I don't want it dizzolving!

Oh also any chance of a drive of your car?!??

I'm going, I've got a pass for parking in the cherished car parking area but if the Imp Club are there I could always park with you guys Ginetta003

Nugget - if the Imp Club have a stand, then only Imp Club members can park on it, it is a condition of our insurance. But you can park close by and chat to the members present. Or you could join the Imp Club and get all the benefits - lots of G15 owners in the club already.

Hope it is a good day - I have been before in my G15 which is well suited to Combe circuit - can't make it this year as will be at Brands.

Cheers - Simon

No worries Simon, I'm currently considering letting my goc membership lapse and moving to the dark impish side.

I have been going to the action days at Castle combe since the 1980's . I have taken my Imp turbo around a couple of times and Clan around once .
Usualy one car/driver combination rises to the top throughout the day, a few years ago it was an old dirty battered orange mini pick up it was well driven and passed everything throughout the day . Another year it was a dirty old 3 litre carlton .. Then one year it was a 1967 volvo 122S with engine managment and throttle bodies .
This year driver of the day for me was Pat and his Imp , a lot of people in the crowd were making positive comments and looking forward to it's next appearance .( thanks for doing so many sessions for us ! ) the session with the Black BMW was like the special saloon races there in the 1990's ! Pity something let go right at the end of the day though . Did anyone get a lap time? i would guess 1:20 - 22 ? ... 130 mph going up to quarry? There was a white Mitsubishi Lancer evo a bit worried with an Imp getting bigger in its mirrors , pity the session ended .
Just a visual observation , does it need a bit less negative camber on the front and a bit more negative camber on the rear, and some kind of anti-roll bar or was that the extra 80 kg or so of the passenger ? :o

Keep it going ! Imp006

I was spot on then ! must be my experience of 26 years not missing a race meeting there !

Seeing Mike Jordan in the British GT race in 2004 passing in a TVR Tuscan at 160 mph going into quarry was quite something ! As was when the outright record went on the old circuit with nigel greensall in a F1 V10 Judd , average speed 131 mph, and doing 182 into quarry and he said he could have done more with a few more laps .

This is an interesting read : http://www.nigelgreensall.com/index.php ... t-60-years

Was a good day and nice to meet a speak to some impers, highlight of the day for me was the parade lap when the elise that was in front of me lost it and did a full 360 at quarry, heh that'll learn him for leaving a gap to the safety car and ignoring the racing line on a wet track.

Regarding my real name Nugget is my nickname to all that know me so use that or Mark, oh and my membership form is in the post.

Cheers

I hope that I didn't sound like I was knocking the GOC - there are some great people there and I am a member (or will be again once I renew) - but there are less of them and many of them have other models which are not Imp powered, so more diverse but less events, stands etc.

Glad Combe was good - we had showers in Kent but it was dry for our practice and race. Ginetta001

There is nothing wrong with the goc they are a good bunch of knowledgeable guys, Simon has summed it up nicely. The imp club is more active in the south west due to the number of members and i have already met a few of them and known one of them for years (Bruce Gardener). given that cash is a finite resource i can't justify being in 2 car clubs so i think i will let my goc membership lapse, also i am seriously thinking about another imp powered project (non ginetta g15) and possibly selling the g15 :?

Don't do it! Imp as well as the Ginetta!

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong 2 imps and a rotten g15!

There's a club for most things  . Our vectra c is just a reliable car that I use when the Imp isn't a reliable car!

It was nice to see a few familiar faces and a good number of Imps & a Ginetta.
I was next door with ASOC, shame we could not match your turnout.
It was the Tiger's turn on Saturday  , the Imp went to Prescott yesterday.
Had a couple of runs up the hill  , good fun.
Cheers,
Gethin. :D

Glad you enjoyed it :D It was my pleasure to do all those sessions for you :D a shame I didn't get to pop down and talk to some of you. As I was running a couple of cars I was rushing around all day as usual.

I would agree with you there Nick, front has a bit too much negative anyway, then with a heavy passenger even more and I think the front left may have dropped a bit too. The rears need some negative camber desperately and I should probably do the tracking whilst im at it. I have a rear anti roll bar which is fairly stiff already.
It's time to make a set of nice adjustable suspension bits to get it all set up nicely.

I wasn't timing but was told I did a 1:23 early in the day  . I could do 1:22 without the supercharger, as I haven't driven the car much over the last few years I am in need of some practise to get back into it.

Unfortunately in the last session, I thought it felt a bit slow, then it filled up with oil smoke and then started to rattle badly so I called it a day. I think it has either run out of oil or oil pressure perhaps due to a vvc control piston sticking open. I will update when I have diagnosed properly

Thanks for the pictures,

I will upload a couple more videos soon.

Cheers

Pat
