Classes D (1151 to 1300cc) and E (up to 1150cc) use HSCC own technical regulations, K6 (1001 to 1300cc) and K7 (851 to 1000cc) use FIA regs. There's also a class K8 for up to 850cc.

Phew.... a lot.
(Only Imps in class D? No 1150 minis?)

Imps are all in class E not D, the championship winner for two years has been a Mini.
HSCC have an excellent website should you wish to swot up :D

Mistake: it was supposed top be: Only Imps in class E? No 1150c.c. minis?

Any other photos from the day of the imps ? I had a great day out car ran well (better than last march) still work to do but improving !
Great to again see so many imp club members , and was shocked to come across Ray Calcutt looking in my engine compartment while i was doing some checks after the practice session ! We got chatting and ge assures me that I did get the shade of blue bang on and he WAS the driver with the blue frontier Fraser Imp !!!! He even asked if he could get behind the wheel to try it for size !
Great day out , nice to bring back some memories for a legend imp racer :D

I've stuck a few here http://www.jaypeaphotos.webspace.virginmedia.com/Jay%20Pea%20Photos/HSCC%20Imps%20Silverstone%20Oct%202011/index.html#. Copse ones are Parctice/Qualifying and Luffield the race.

I went on my own as the race was a bit late making it a long day putting off the rest of the family joining me. As usual the saloons were the most entertaining and well worth the wait. The video clip posted earlier is fantastic. I think I might go and watch it again...

Simon, hope you get it all back together for next week's Birkett and I might see you there.

John - fantastic pictures, the facial expressions say it all!

Not all good news on the car front - the gearbox has suffered and is currently being rebuilt, so I'll be putting it all back together by torchlight! But it will be ready for next Saturday....

Ibbo - don't you know who Jay Pea is?

A prize for the best suggestion of what Jimmy Mac is looking at :D :D

I've got some pics. I'll get 'em up soon. They aren't amazing.

It was a great day. As has been said, the saloons are the most exciting to watch. The Imps acquitted themselves admirably. Vince got off lightly!

Most enjoyable. Roll on 2012 season.

Hi Mark, thanks for the nice coments on the photos. Camera kit is Nikon with a 70-200 zoom and a x2 teleconvertor. So pretty much eveything is shot at 400mm f5.6.

Meltdown, I take everything in raw format rather than jpeg so I can correct all my many exposure mistakes. I then crop loads! Removes the fences at the bottom and the bright orange marshals at the top. Also lets me reframe the shot.

I have a few more, I'll print them off and bring them to the next Stevenage meeting.

Cheers,
John

Looks like a great day, shame I missed it. I'll try to get to the Birkett this weekend. Great photos and vids as always.

I use a Nikon D3000 with a Sigma 150-500 (which with the 1.5 aspect of the camera becomes up to 750) so only a couple of those I've published are cropped. I also shoot in jpg as I don't have photoshop or the like (and would struggle to find the time to use it).

What does a black cross on a yellow plate with black cross mean, as can be seen on a certain blue Imp?

It identifies an inexperienced driver (less than 6 race finishes) but no longer applies to David - he just hasn't got around to removing it yet.

Hi Tim,

What an amazing quality your photos have. Obviously I'm also a great fan of Imps and derivatives, but I enjoyed every picture/car in your gallery. :D

Hi Lars

Thanks for your kind words on my photos, I'm already looking forward to getting to more events with camera next year - only managed about 2 races and 3 hillclimbs in 2011. Will have to rely on Andy's intense & addictive in-car videos to get my Imp motorsport fix until the Spring
