I will not go as its the Birkett the weekend after on the big historic circuit which compared to the bland club circuit is no contest!

Steve could still win if the rest of the imps helped him, but this should have happened a few races ago ,years ago in ireland the imp drivers would help who ever was in with a change of taking the championship ,and would still do it now

Yes he may well do i just think who ever is leading the class and has a chance of the championship near the end of the season as long as none of the other imps are in the frame for the title it would be proper club racing ,this is probably the differance between the historic saloons and the special saloons and also my way of thinking its better to have an imp win the champiship

HRSR has had good grids for the last 2 years so you need to get your entry in as soon as they arrive. But 1st reserve means you will almost certainly get to race. So make sure everything is ready to go.

Yes, you get half your entry fee back if you practice but there's still no room on the grid. Highly unlikely - in fact, the only time I was a reserve, it was only for a few hours and then I got in.

Its a bit rubbish I would not say practice is half as good as a race more like 20%. So refund should be 80%, but thats not up to me and is not the way to make money!

I spoke to Alan at the HSCC and there are no reserves now.

John Orr used to own and race Andrew Colleys Imp and may well have bought it back again

Silverstone is one of the highest places in Northants and, being a former airfield, is wide open to the elements so it seems to get the extremes of the weather. Wrap up warm but don't discount the sun :D
There's a BRSCC race meeting on the southern circuit tomorrow - mostly Caterhams - so if historics (aside from Imps) don't float your boat then take a stroll into Buckinghamshire.

Live timing on the MST site isn't working :(
Also the MST site is showing the date for the meeting as 23rd which presumably is just a typo as I guess somebody would have sussed that there were no time keepers by now.....

A sunny yet chilly day in Northants saw seven Imps at play, the championship all but decided with the number 1 Mini needing only to finish to secure, Steve Platts being 8 points behind needed a class win with second-placed Lotus Cortina having to come second in its class for Steve to win (plus that Mini conking out). There were battles throughout the field, but the championship leader was playing safe and our Steve was running third in class. Midway through, Vince Frost stopped smack bang in the middle of the exit of Brooklands pointing the wrong way with what looks like a snapped driveshaft (where the hub nut goes) resulting in three wheels and a few sticky moments (see photo) before the red flag came out :o
After Vince had a change of underwear and his car was recovered there was a 5 lap dash for the spoils with the race restarted, No1 Mini staying well out of trouble near the back to take the championship.
Well done to all the Imps for an entertaining race. I of course have many photo's should you like copies, here are my highlights below :D

Man of the Match for me was Apeximp with a successful race-long battle here plus a full 7 seconds quicker than last year!

Andy Hillman and David Heale had a cracking battle but Steve Platts secured the class E honours and 3rd overall in the championship with 3rd in class today, almost with David towards the end. Jon Orr has rejoined the fold and this was his first event since before I first raced! I didn't have my best day ever, a misfire in practice was cured and then I managed to spin on the second lap going into the complex, rejoined and only to have an engine issue - so a busy time ahead getting ready for the Birkett next Saturday. Jimmy Mack had a much improved run today and we hope to see more of him next year.

Great to meet up with so many Impers today too - thanks for your continued support...

Top day at silverstone today, great to see all the race imps and road imps full of hillman supporters! I think we have the best supported classic car gang ever.
Many thanks to a man called Andy who very kindly made me a paper gasket for my hillmans oil filter housing, after practice there was a worrying oil leak but with a good 4 hours between practice and race there was no excuse for not fixing it.
Great to see John Orr back out again,i think he said he had wrong gear ratios in, as he was well down field, back in 2002 he was the fastest man second only to sir A Oliver !
Jimmy Mac put in a stong performance considering only his second race this year, poor vince had rough time, myself and David had a great ding dong if you fancy a laugh you can check out the hole race incar on youtube, its says 13 hours remaining on part one of the video upload so will be tomorrow.
Congratulations too Steve Platts for wining the class by a country mile.

What a show!! The best movies this weekend! (including what is on Canaldigital o Viasat!!!)

But tell me, an untutored and not knowing anything individual. What is the different between class D, E, K6 and K7. All 1000 - 1300 c.c cars??
