Andy did a great job today, he was absolutly flying. Made up for the lack of luck he had earlier in the year to grab a great podium, first from an imp in the last fair few years.

Heard a rumour today that the second-placed Cortina was underweight so Andy might go up in the world :D

Hope your neighbour's ok, Jim.

In my experience as a former 'Man from the Pru' that should be a claim on his house insurance then you can get Auto Windscreens in! 8)
Best way to approach it though would be to speak to your own insurance company first and ask for their advice
Don't do it as a claim if though, use their legal helpline or legal expenses section if you have it on your policy.

Good luck in getting it sorted.

A great race from Andy Jones to finish on the podium. David Heale took 5th and Steve Platts 7th and Adrian Oliver 16th - Vince and I non-finished with minor problems but enjoyed ourselves anyway. So a great show from the Imps where there was a capacity grid (with reserves) at a circuit that favours power over handling. And the first (1300) Mini was 6th!
Thanks to all who came and supported us...

If it was only slightly underweight, they would probably let him off with a warning.

Well done Andy, I didn't catch you during the day to say hello, but the race was great, shame those cortina's have so much poke - i was secretly hoping for a bit of rain to level the power stakes for you.

What do mean Jonesey? Have you been letting the opposition tinker with your hillman? Chris can have the t-shirt but it's not very nice since I wore it to change my sump. I might get a transfer to Davids team cos he is in great danger of beating you next time if he keeps going like he did on monday.

There's a full grid of 34 cars, though only 4 Imps and we are in the garages for this one! But only 12 mins of practice and a 15 minute race....

Garages to make the pre-race on-camera interviews easier for the TV crew?

Well they are filming every race and only the saloons are in the garages - possibly because the meeting sponsor/our championship sponsor races a saloon?

Andy set the fastest time an imp has ever done at brands indy in the HRSR championship. a 57.980. By contrast the 2l cortina of Dan Cox that won only managed a 57.805 so that was an amazing time on the way to 5th overall and a class win.

It was in there, I assume we will be seeing footage, he was in 4th but some backmarkers getting in the way and him taking it easy to save the engine meant he slipped down to 5th.

Brilliant job. Clearly a winning combination of a very good car driven by a crazy driver! 8)

After him scaring the life out of me at the Anglesey trackday passing me on the outside of Church (resulting for me in massive lift-off oversteer @ 65 mph mid bend ) I'd guess a lot of the cars in front of him will have caved in early and moved out of the way.

MArk

I think David Heale was 6th, Steve Platts 7th and I was plugging round in 12th, with not quite enough speed at present, but at least I finished and there were lots of bigger cars behind! So a great result for the Imps and hopefully some good action for the TV cameras. The 2 programs will be on Motors at 8pm on the 4th and 11th of October - if you don't have Sky, find someone who has

Great effort from Andy and the rest of the Imp pilots. Who does your engines Andy? What sort of ball-park figure does a top spec. engine like that cost?
Keep up the good work you guys.
Cheers, Simon.
