Many thanks to Pat and Dad for a great day...and a special thanks to Pats Dad who gently pointed out that I was starting in the wrong lane making the first bend much harder that it should be! Definitely would do it again and I'll try to get out on track more than twice next time!

My only regret is that I didn't get to give Chris a ride in the Clan after he "turbo'd his gearbox. Will do next time...but I'm sure Chris will have his own (turbo'ed) Clan by then.

Talking about turbos! Eric's 875 Clan looked and sounded (and was) much faster than the very professional looking 3 litre Jag jobbie...eric certainly knows what he's doing! 8)

The new engine was loosening up nicely during the 160 mile trip home. The mayo in the filler neck had disappeared completely after 30 miles so must have been due to doing the oil change in a damp-ish paddock...and maybe the Halfords Classic Oil is a bit crape and damp too!

Good day out at the Curborough, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and Tim (White Imp) and Chris (yellow clan) fighting for maximum track time.
I had fun in the turbo clan, tried new fangled electronic boost control and basically got no control, wastgate not even bothering to open so back to the drawing board. Worth a try, but back to the good old manual boost control, a bleed valve with a ball and spring.

Pity about Chris's gearbox, unfortunately turbos are good at breaking them.

Great to catch up with old , and new friends, thanks to Pat and Dad.

Great photos super66

I really enjoyed the day and The Gimp (white Imp) behaved really well. Had loads of track time, but it wasn't until I went out in Tony's car with him that I realised how it should really be done!!! He was amazing. It was great meeting everybody and I really enjoyed your company. Thanks to Tony and Pat for organising such a great day.

Cheers

Ditto Great photos super66! 8)

I had a serious knee wobble that lasted at least 15 mins after my backend shimmied as I suddenly powered off and changed down to 2nd too early for "the molehill".

Thing is ...i think I enjoyed the knee wobble a little too much.... :?

Free tuition made it all the more of a bargain day. You had to pay £25 extra for guided laps at the Imp 08 track day! 8)

Hmmm......

 We need the next National to be based around Curborough! :D

Thanks Mark and Chris Benoy (offered me a drive on the day) but I don't like to drive other peoples cars if I am not in a position to be able to fix them if I break them  which may well happen

We should be arranging another day in the not too distant future as my dad and bill are currently sorting out the rebuild of both their single seaters so as soon as one or both are up and running again they want to do some testing. I will also get my Imp there one way or another as it needs driving  I will let you all know the date as soon as we know.

Cheers
