Hi All, should the sump and transaxle drain (& filler) plugs have washers under them?

I have an early 25D distributor here, part number is 40905 B dated 1263, an imp parts specialist told me that its a close match to the competions...

An item that I saw on a Sunbeam Alpine site was a relief valve made by a company to raise the oil pressure in an engine.
