Re: Holly Birkett Relay 2011

We are in garage 10C and are race number 46. Glad that there will be some club members there to cheer us on - come to the garage and Kimberley will furnish you with details of how to be a 'spotter' for the team - basically means phoning us if you see any of the Imps stop on track so that we can send...

Re: HSCC Silverstone Finals saturday 22nd oct

It identifies an inexperienced driver (less than 6 race finishes) but no longer applies to David - he just hasn't got around to removing it yet.

Re: HSCC Silverstone Finals saturday 22nd oct

Andy Hillman and David Heale had a cracking battle but Steve Platts secured the class E honours and 3rd overall in the championship with 3rd in class today, almost with David towards the end. Jon Orr has rejoined the fold and this was his first event since before I first raced! I didn't have my best...

Holly Birkett Relay 2011

Just to let anyone who is interested know, there is again a team of Pesky Imps in the 6 hour Birkett Relay on the Silverstone GP circuit on Saturday 29/10. The team is the same as last year with Mike Dowsett in his Masters spec car and Martin Bramwell, Adrian Oliver, Steve Platts and myself with our...

Yes, you get half your entry fee back if you practice but there's still no room on the grid. Highly unlikely - in fact, the only time I was a reserve, it was only for a few hours and then I got in.

Re: HSCC Silverstone Finals saturday 22nd oct

HRSR has had good grids for the last 2 years so you need to get your entry in as soon as they arrive. But 1st reserve means you will almost certainly get to race. So make sure everything is ready to go.

As Col says, the Brands Indy meeting is on Motors tonight, but it is in 2 halves, the second will be shown next Tues at 8pm (both with a couple of repeats) so the saloons might be tonight or might be next week.

MArk I think David Heale was 6th, Steve Platts 7th and I was plugging round in 12th, with not quite enough speed at present, but at least I finished and there were lots of bigger cars behind! So a great result for the Imps and hopefully some good action for the TV cameras. The 2 programs will be on ...

In that case you need the Masters 'special K' rules which allow extra mods above strict K inc 40s - best to talk to Mike. I think they might even allow some plastic panels.

I thought I should add a few comments or you will all think that only Chris and Rog did any work! As you can see, we are enthusiastic amateurs and there are a few things that we could have done better, but the objective was to get the car road legal (and safe) in time for Clan 40, at minimum cost. Re: Improving brakes on rally Imp

It's really a matter of personal preference regards how short a pedal you want and how much your pads knock off. On my racer I have a .75 for the fronts and a .7 for the rears (discs all round). This gives a very hard pedal initially but it is great on the track and the bigger front cylinder compens...

Yes, the Falcons and Mustangs run the same 4.7 V8 but the Falcons do have fibreglass wings so are a bit lighter but don't handle quite so well. Usually makes for some close racing amongst the V8s, but Leo's cars are absolutely top notch and take some beating. I heard that Dan Cox might have missed t...

There are only 11 regulars out in the HRSR grid. It is more expensive than usual because it is on the new arena circuit and because this was the event that they decided to give the HRSR their 40 minute race (we usually have 1 longer race each year, even though the majority of members don't want it)....
