Re: Silverstone Classic

If there is interest in attending, we can register the Imp Club and then there is a discount code for reduced price tickets. I'll monitor and if there is enough interest in a club stand, I'll investigate the registration (unless Colin V wants to pick it up?).

Just got in from a great day on the Imp Club stand at the NEC - very busy all day with several new members signing up and lots of interest in the display and many interesting people to talk to about Imps and the 50th. Quite a few members visited today and more tomorrow, I expect. I have some pics bu...

Tom - looks interesting. Would like to see some more pics once you have taken off the removable panels. When I had a Rawlson, I was told there were only 2 and I know who has the earlier version, bodywork looks a bit Davrian like.

Jim You would not believe how slippery it was in qualy - you had to try it - it was worse than normal wet conditions, even though it wasn't raining. But the race was a different matter - you wouldn't want one of those rattley, understeery 1300cc cars then - we race Imps because thay are fun to race ...

Re: Imps in a relay race - 14th Oct at Snetterton

Well, I'm very pleased to say that a good day was had by all! This was an excellent event, we were made very welcome by the MG Car Club who were running the event and despite a huge variation in the speed of the cars, I'm not aware of any incidents. Just over half the race was dry and although we we...

Imps in a relay race - 14th Oct at Snetterton

After deciding that the Birkett relay probably wasn't for us this year, Chris had a look around and discovered that the MG Car Club run a relay race over 4 hours on the Snetterton 200 circuit, so I applied for a team entry and we were accepted. So Adrian Oliver, Andy Jones, myself and hopefully, a f...

An interesting day! When I went out in practice, the car wasn't right - only 3 cylinders, so did the necessary 3 laps and then stopped and jumped out. HT lead had come off the dizzy cap, so pushed it back in and and slapped a bit of tank tape on to hold it in place, got back in and tried again. Much...

I have quite probably bitten off more than I can handle, I have entered the Baby 360, a 2 hour endurance race at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit on 16th September (less than 2 weeks away). It is run by the 360 MRC (organisers of the 6 hour race at Snetterton that we entered with Pete Richards' Clan)....

For racing, we mostly use a straight cut 4 or 5 speed box based on the Jack Knight gear sets or similar remade equipment. Some people strengthen the casing, some don't bother. Probably more important to strengthen for rallying and sprint/hillclimb use. You can also use a lowered 3rd/4th conversion w...
