Re: hscc thruxton april easter bank holiday

An interesting weekend - dry but cool on Saturday and damp becoming wet on Sunday (with torrential downpour just after our race which held up racing for a while). Although the only other Imps were Adrian Oliver and Shaun Hazlewood on the entry list, Colin and Ian Gunton had got their cars sorted aft...

As mentioned, these along with a TR4 and a 911 were a class from the Guards trophy race - they had to do their 40 minute race in 2 x 20 minute races with other grids; so effectively just an extra class in our race. The TR was the pick of the class...

Re: hscc Donington 6th April

For anyone who is interested in our races but cannot get to the circuit, there is now now a very good live timing feed from the HSCC website which includes commentary so almost as good as being there (especially if it is cold and/or wet!).

Re: hscc Donington 6th April

Results can be found on mst site http://dev.mstworld.tv/Results# 3 Imps started the race and 3 Imps finished the race (though I made heavy weather of it!). Unfortunately, Colin and Ian Gunton weren't so lucky and did not start the race after problems in qualifying. The rain held off, much to our sur...

Re: hscc Donington 6th April

The entry list for Donington is now published on the HSCC website. There are 5 Imps entered along with lots of Lotus Cortinas and Minis and a class from the Guards race which is oversubscribed. Other Impers are Colin and Ian Gunton and Shaun Hazlewood. Colin will be running one of the new 5 bearing ...

An Imp powered car would only be able to compete with something more powerful at certain circuits, in much the same way that the Imp HRSR cars are much further up the field sometimes. So at places like Donington or Silverstone National, not even close. But Brands Indy, Cadwell and Silverstone GP (ye...

Colin

The Autosport show is in January.

No plans for a club stand in 2014 - 2013 was a special case and was to promote the 50th and the event in Coventry. It worked well and we got the publicity and some early momentum which carried through 2013.

Unless you know something we don't....

I don't like Silverstone Club in a tin top Imp, but the GP is an entirely different matter and is (IMHO) one of the best circuits. OK, the cars we race with struggle with multiple changes of direction whereas the Imps lap it up, probably won't be so much difference with the higher spec cars in your ...

The tyres are 4.5M x 13 Dunlop Historic crossplies, so they do have a larger diameter than a low profile radial. We do have a bit of suspension travel!

Hi James

Provided it isn't raining, there is loads of paddock space so look for the race Imps (hopefully parked together) and park as close as you can - there aren't any restrictions where to park. We are hoping to do a group photo after the race with as many Imps as possible.

Unless you can get one of Andy's tickets, advance tickets seem to be £9 so I guess it would be £10-12 on the gate. Timetable is now up on the HSCC website.

4 Imps entered for Brands tomorrow - myself, Andy Jones (with Frank the 1150), Colin Gunton (I assume with the 5 bearing 1050) and Stuart Kerr. 25 entries in total, practice is circa 11.30 and our race is scheduled for 17:00, race 8 of 10. Great clubby meeting so should be good.

Stevenage AC used to do this show but since I have been racing, it clashes with the Gold Cup at Oulton Park. But it was certainly an enjoyable show when we used to go though the organisers have changed in the meantime.
