Just checked, mines LNB and it's not an export it could mean coupé style body ?it also a good bit higher than the chassis number

Hi Dave cars still looking great better with age , I was wondering about the body number should all cars have one or was it just early ones mines a 68 and couldn't find a number where is it supposed to be?

Good luck with your restoration lots of help on here if you do upgrade the lighting I would recommend daylight tubes no more expensive but they will make a huge difference especially if you paint anything

It's coming along its getting all the joints on the wheel arches to line up ,inner to outer I found one of the most time consuming jobs ,stick at it your doing a grand job

Looks like you got the profile spot on I'll have to unpick mine and redo it.
Is the other one just the same, looks like you have 2shells ? Bit of a coincidence were doing the same bit at the same time keep going soon be driving :-)

The full profile on the front edge is way out will make new edge and extend the front down to match might do both bonnets at same time and sell one on

Got another bonnet yesterday had a good look today, first let me state I have nothing bad to say about the seller he said it was a spare and had repair on the front he's not used it and I said I would strip all the front edge to see how it was ,so I did today the overall bonnet is a lot better condi...

Hi Peter did notice that but did you notice the price would have liked to go that way but near £200 is too much for me but it's these arkward bits I tend to be good at ,?? now I've cut it out lam looking forward to fixing it lve missed the welding,got fed up blocking bodywork

Hi got back to the bonnet today stripped the paint off under the bonnet and found a few old repairs that I had to strip back as the seal would not go on part of it due to the under edge not being flat, not surprising for a 50 year old bonnet . This may account for the bonnet being a bit too long onc...

Could door handles be made of a different material than zamak as I believe it the material that's the problem or is there a modern equivalent?

Hi Peter the front panel has no sign of a nudge , the bonnet overhangs the front corners too I may be able to move the centre but think I would have to drill spot welding at the top of the wing to move the corner ?

Yours seems a better size , I bet they just picked the best fit on the production line ,I've probably got the longer bonnet with the smaller distance to front panel Iam going to put all the hardware on and see how it fits if not may have to look for another bonnet? I've got a new seal from club spar...

Hi could one of you guys take a dimension from your imp so I can check mine the one I need is from the back of the scuttle to the edge of the front panel in the middle,mine measures 30 1/4" is this correct ? and the bonnet measurement is 30 3/4" is this correct?

Are original rubber suspension bushes still available I see a lot are going for the poly ones but I think rubber is better for road use

Thanks Scott it's still a bit rough problem was the arch profile, imp club wing one side and repair section other and the profile as you would expect was different one side had more curve and smaller lip and opposite on the other so had to put bit more curve on one and more lip on the other , taken ...

Hi not got much done this year ,a shame considering the great weather we've had managed to get most of the rear wings flated but with the weather turning now I've epoxy primed them just to seal will finish them next year now

Got a bit of time at last ,took John and cols advice and put some colour on these roof to help seal it before the vinyl goes on.

Hi I've epoxy primed the roof
3 coats and have keyed it with 80 grit .
Now it is waterproof is there any point in painting it a colour if the vinyl roof is going on top ?

Well! This stiletto is turning out to be a very expensive project I completed on the sale of the garage today so I now have 400ft of imp space to work in .first job will be beefing up security then back too it :-)

Well the time has finally run out ,as many of you know I am renting the garage and for a long time was in fear of being turfed out with nowhere to take the car. The garage is up for sale and I have had an offer accepted so it looks like iam stopping for a while and there is room for more !!
