Re: ex police car rescued maybe a rust in peace??

Wouldn't it kind of ruin the caption competition if everyone started posting captions up on here?

I like the fact an Imp will fit inside a van, might have to request a bigger van for work, lol.

Re: Noddys Natterings , New interior panels for the Singer

You can get mill board in the correct thickness for the door cards. There are limited supplies of the old 2.5mm board bit there is also 2.3mm which works well with new vinyl that can be a bit thicker.

Usually there is a discount scheme whereby the clubs advertise in there magazines/forums and receive a rebate on ticket sales that are purchesed through a link and can be connected to the individual car club.

Can't say I've seen any such adverts this year.

Not quite sure the point of your post, but the vast majority of shows I go to offer a discount for pre booking, much like our own national. It helps planning and funding and adds an incentive to book early. If you turn up on the day you run the risk of the show area filling up and not having space t...

Ok, all those imps, the Bevan one, a cosworth and a range rover all parked in the grounds of a large house.... I think someone has far too much money. Am I jealous?... Too right I am

I'd do the same if I could afford it.

Im sure i heard perth race course.

Id imagine a rugby club will be too small as there are several people talking about restorations being done for this event and people who dont normally go going becase its going to be an epic one. I also imagine the club are pulling out the stops on this one.

What's the benefit/point on a road car? Surely the weight lose is minimal not to make any notice. I can understand on race cars where its the combined weight lose of all the factors and competing against other cars to give you the edge, but on the road you are not racing anyone or making enough diff...

Doesn't look like it was taxed since it was sold. Doesn't look too promising, 6 years and not back on the road. What condition was it in when you sold it? Wondering if it was taken off the road to restore when bought and found to be too big a job. Hopefully it will still be alive though.

Nice one, glad to hear its running well. I still remember driving Derek cauldry's husky and it really makes a difference driving an imp and driving a well rebuilt imp. I couldn't believe imps could feel so smooth on the road and slick gear changes.. and as an added bonus, your car looks a peach, ver...

Re: imps vs mini shootout

from experience of rallying round the Alps with Imps and Minis, the 1000cc Mini is no match for the 998cc Imp on the road, the 998 is more matched to the 1275. You'd be better, and fairer to run an 875 Imp against a 1000cc Mini.

998 is expensive, 930 is harder to find now, both are very good though.

As for colour, it could be the original if the chassis plate indicates it being sunflower yellow, but the best way to find out is to take a sample to a paint shop for analysis.

If they are no longer "safe" then they have been sold unfit for purpose so you should get your money back? I have a Corbeau Sprint but it's an old one anyway. Dying to know what's unsafe about them...I wonder if it's fire-related? Only unfit for.purpose if bought after the change came into effect.

Makes the 4 day Sun Run I do very resonable, works out to about £800 each all in. Not top luxury hotels, but lets be honest, at the end of a good day's driving from 8am to 6pm, all you want is a meal, a few beers and sleep. That is £800 each for ferrys, petrol, tolls, event entrance, hotels, coffees...
