Re: A Californian drying out in South Africa

Roy i have mentioned this in other posts but if you want to improve the cooling add an overflow bottle. leave 7 psi cap on top of rad, the pipe that runs from the filler neck of rad to a 1 litre bottle. Make sure the pipe extends into the bottle to within 10 mm of the bottom. The bottle should be ve...

Re: What did you do to your Imp today?

Andy you need to order a proper pint of milk or two with the old foil caps. Place the caps over the spindles and tap the arms on. A trick taught to me by my dad who had mini when i was very young, he suggested it during the build of my rally imp. I changed the spindles for good items and new arms an...

looking very smart Chris, one thing i would reccomend is sealing off all around the edge of the rad. you have a large gap below the rad, this is the route 90% of the air will take rather than go through the small gaps in the fins, it is the air passing over the fins that provides the cooling, the mo...

Re: Clan build

The car has done a couple of events and was unfortunately rolled into a river. It will be re-built at some point. It is a proper string alignment gauge to ensure car is square and the tracking on all four corners is correct.

The clan does not weigh the same as an imp so spring rate needs to be lower for road use. For a good road car i would go with protechs imp dampers and the springs that are on the car, see how it handles, when you have an idea of how it goes and have played with the damper clicks to fine tune it to w...
