Re: Going Dutch 2020

Just checked the Going Dutch website for update on the Coronavirus situation, and I note that the organisers are intending to review the situation at the beginning of April. I've had a message from Stena line who we are booked with indicating that they are prepared to be flexible if booking changes ...

Re: National awards winners?

Yeah, thanks, Simon - only got a copy of the awards from Kimberley yesterday - came on here (or tried to!) to post them and of course the Forum was down for its upgrade.....I should have checked before the weekend and I'd have found them. ;) If anyone is reading this thread and finds out that they w...

Re: National awards winners?

I dont think winners should be post on here until the magazine has been published ,just my view on it as alot of people like to read it 1st in club magazine col Im sure Grahame will agree with you there, the mag at one time was the only medium that folk could find out whats going on in the club, wi...

Re: National awards winners?

I handed over all the paperwork to Kimberley after the Award Presentation, but I'm sure we can post something a little earlier than October.....I can remember a few - such as Colin Valentine winning "Best Husky" and son Chris Valentine getting "Best Competition Imp", but remembering them all would b...

Don't talk to me about the journey back.....got to face that yet :) -stayed overnight at one of Blanche's relatives in Bournemouth. Happy to help - couldn't see the young lad stranded..........wrote off my first Imp when I was 19, a long way from home, and I remember what a major PITA that was.....

Anyone have any more information about it......?

Re: Where's the thread for National?

Only got down Saturday about 4pm, but had a great evening meeting friends from home and abroad, and an equally good day on Sunday - despite my Husky not being ready, so attending in an Alfa! Congrats to all the organisers and volunteers for all their hard work, and of course to the birthday girl, Ro...

Re: National 2015 Darlington

Only got to Croft about 1pm, so missed some of the weekend, and had to leave before the Transporter Bridge trip - but an enjoyable weekend nevertheless - always great to meet up with old friends - particularly our Dutch friends....and I promise to do my best to make Going Dutch next year! We stayed ...

Re: HSCC Race Series 2015

Just checked the results for Race 2 from Croft........I know you said it was a better race, Simon, but winning the class by 3/1000s from Andy is cutting it a bit fine ;) Although looking at it - that was the difference between your last lap times, so you must have crossed the line to start the last ...

Re: Imp Ecosse 2015

If anyone is still looking for accommodation for Imp Ecosse, I have a Premier Inn booked in Inverness for Thursday night (we were going to meet up with Mike at the end of his kayaking) and a double (shared facilities) in the Boat House Guest House (same as Mike but £60/night 'cos no en suite) for th...

Another thanks to the organisers and indeed to everybody for the warm welcome to us Lancastrians. Thanks also to Mike Marsh for letting me have a couple of blasts in his Chamois Le Jog car........I'd forgotten just how much fun a well-tweaked tho largely standard car can be on the twisties......and ...

Good thread, Tim...only just seen it - I don't get on here as often as I should.... I'm afraid Shaun's old pickup finally met its end last year when I sold my unit, where it had lived whilst I hoped to restore it since I closed my yard in 2005.....when I finally unearthed it the bulkhead and sills w...

Always a good show, much more "Clubbie" than Autosport.....usually plenty of autojumble type stands, but the hall they are in tends to be very cold - think unheated barn ;) - so wrap up warm :)

Re: What do I do?

Thanks for the comments guys......I guess the main part of the problem is that I make my living by stripping Alfas for spares - although I'm trying to be semi-retired now - and I've got several project Alfas as well.....at the last count I have a dozen cars (including the Yellow peril above) around ...

What do I do?

I've owned this car for 15 years now......and it now needs some loving TLC, but as usual I've got a lot of projects around.....including a Husky, and even the ex-shaun Felstead Imp pickup.....tho I'm not sure that will ever get restored.... http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c318/Lancsbreaker/Cleanye...

I went spectating at the MC at the Aspinall Arms near Whalley on Sunday - first time in years that I haven't either competed or marshalled - but sadly the sole Imp was missing - apparently gearbox problems - but I understand they fitted a replacement and re-joined at Gosforth on Sunday night, I beli...

Re: Improving brakes on rally Imp

Interesting topic - I've just resurrected my modded 998 Chamois after a considerable period out of action - and the brakes are sticking - so much that I thought I'd break the Rotoflexs moving off - I'm guessing the master cylinder is objecting to being disturbed after its long rest  Ever since...
